We had a good time at our 5/27 meeting at the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce, made more enjoyable with soft cookies brought by Eva and Gary. Cindy was able to attend in person and told us all about her cruise to Mexico. Joe joined on Zoom for his first Table Topics role. Carrie was our Timer. We were able to give Eva her name tag. Toastmaster Sandra used a June 30th theme to remind us of things the club must complete before the end of the Toastmasters year. Karen presented a list of nominees for new officers. We also appointed an Audit Committee to prepare for our new Treasurer.
We are thankful for Jeannie joining our club. We will meet again hybridly the second Wednesday of June and vote for our new officers. We also have Melissa’s Sparkplug of the Year to present to her.

Sorry that you missed us on Wednesday at the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce. We revisited Mothers’ Day with Toastmaster Karen. She and Joe gave inspiring and intriguing speeches. We didn’t use a lot of filler words during the meeting. Our guest, Kristy, participated comfortably in Table Topics. Melissa joined us on her way to the airport! We gained a new member with our Area Director, Jeannie, joining our club!
Our meeting next week, 5/20, is on Zoom only at 5pm. This is your perfect chance to get a speech done without leaving your home. It also is great to invite your friends to. We can send them a link.
We will be electing new officers before the end of June. Please don’t be afraid to volunteer and learn!

We got together on 4/22 and held an Earth Day-themed meeting, suggested by Carrie and Toastmastered by Sandra. Melissa joined us in person and led our Table Topics session. We were unable to elect a Secretary because we needed another member present but we hope to do so at our next hybrid meeting the second Wednesday in May.
We missed our members with prior commitments, but we know you thought of us. See you next month in person or on Zoom! Guests are always welcome!

Five of us were able to make it to our virtual meeting on 4/15. Sandra was our Toastmaster with a theme of “National Holocaust Remembrance Day.” This was a very educational meeting for everyone. With the absence of a speaker. we expanded our Table Topics session. We all had multiple questions to answer relating to the topic. Eva and Gary had to leave early, but not before we were able to agree to renew our membership with the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce!
We look forward to seeing everyone at our hybrid meeting on 4/22 at 5pm at the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce.

“Tax Day” was our theme at our 4/8 meeting at the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce. Sandra helped us understand the importance of being a mentor with her speech, evaluated by the group. Carrie held roles as Timer and Word Master/Gramarrian; Joe was our Ah Counter. Area Director Jeannie Gaye volunteered to be our Table Topics Master. Everyone managed to use the Word of the Day, “loquacious.”
Toastmaster Karen reminded us that Division contests are this Saturday in Henderson. We still need to elect a new Secretary at our 4/22 hybrid meeting. Volunteers are welcome!
We meet on Zoom only on 4/15 for those of you who could not make it on 4/8. Same time and Zoom link.

“Travel Plans” was Toastmaster Talmadge’s theme on 3/25. Carrie as Table Topics Master helped us reflect on past and future travel plans, and Patrick had some very interesting ones! Joe gave his Ice Breaker speech and got us all thinking about interesting ideas people have discussed while purchasing real estate. Melissa, our Sparkplug of the Year, gave a great Ah Counter report. Billy introduced the Word of the Day, “unwavering “. Karen as General Evaluator asked that club members try to sign up on the agenda before the meetings.
Our next meeting will be the second Wednesday of April. We believe our Area Director will attend on Zoom.

We had a fun and informative meeting on 3/18. We were Zoom only with “The Vernal Equinox” as Toastmaster Karen’s theme. Billy gave his Ice Breaker, all about his continuing quest to improve his public speaking skills. Table Topics Master Sandra used our seasonal change theme to ask everyone about areas in their lives they might want to make new beginnings in. Patrick was superb as our Ah Counter. Time limits were observed on every timed meeting facet.
Next week we will meet hybridly on Wednesday at 5pm at the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce. We miss seeing you all at one meeting. We have some interesting items to discuss, too. Hope you can make it. Guests are welcome to attend!

We moved our meetings to Wednesday starting on 3/11. No more wondering about the day of the week! We are still meeting at 5pm, now the same for NV and AZ.
President and DTM Sandra was Toastmaster of the evening with a “Metamorphosis” theme. New member Joe, members Eva and Gary, Carrie and Karen were there in person with Patrick and new member Billy appearing on Zoom.
Billy jumped right in with an informative speech, evaluated by the entire group in the evaluation half of the meeting. Everyone enjoyed Eva’s Table Topics and Gary’s joke.
Cindy and Melissa couldn’t make it, though.
Notes will follow regarding a robust discussion of Billy’s speech. Also, we are still considering inviting candidates from either state as guest speakers to evaluate their delivery, not their content, as Carrie suggested.
Our next meeting is Zoom only on Wednesday, 3/18! All adults who are interested in Toastmasters are invited to attend!
