free until you want to start your journey. New members pay a one-time new membership fee of $20.00 to pay for registration and the New Member Kit.

We met at the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce on 8/26, with two members, Joe and Jeannie, Zooming in. Toastmaster Carrie led us in a theme related to the upcoming lunar eclipse, “Out of the Shadows “. Everyone had great fun talking about things they reveal about themselves. VP of Education Sandra presented President Karen with a special Toastmasters Core Values coin. We intend to rotate its presentation to other club members during the year.
Sandra reminded us of upcoming dues payments and the finalization of our Club Success Plan. Thanks to all members who have already contributed to both!
Carrie will bring a guest to our first September meeting and we will also celebrate Sandra’s birthday. It will be wonderful to see everyone again on 9/9 at 5pm. Stay cool!

We focused on a theme of “Being a Good Neighbor “ at our virtual meeting on 8/19. Two Toastmasters were able to give highly educational speeches, each of which was evaluated by the group. We all managed to use the Word if the Day, “prattle”, too!
Next Wednesday we meet hybridly at the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce at 5pm. Come see what we have to offer to speakers snd leaders in the making!

We had an amazing meeting talking about dust and rain storms at our hybrid meeting 8/12. Melissa brought homemade pie and we celebrated her birthday, even though it was late. Toastmaster Karen gave an Icebreaker speech and General Evaluator Sandra neatly pulled the meeting evaluation together. Melissa stepped up as Table Topics Master, quizzing our guests with topical questions.
Our Area Director Tendai installed our new officers (Eva, we missed you). He also invited constant Toastmaster friends Sherri Parker and Ken Richardson to attend. This was a real treat as they have been an integral part of our club for 20 years.
Carrie shared information about the area Community Achievement Awards so our club members can nominate deserving recipients.
Thank you to our members for this fun chance to get to know each other better while improving our skills at speaking and leadership!

We held a birthday party celebration for members Carrie and Karen on 7/21. Melissa was not able to attend, so we will celebrate her birthday at our next meeting the second Wednesday in August.
Toastmaster Sandra brought pizza and cards to go along with her theme, the “Importance of Celebrating Successes and Appreciation of Individuals".
Carrie posed many Table Topics questions, and everyone used the Word of the Day, “edify”.
Joe kept great track of filler words as our Ah Counter.
Eva and Gary asked for clarifying information about international and club dues and paid in advance at the meeting. Thank you so much!
We hope to see Jeannie, Patrick and Cindy soon. We know it’s hot, but the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce was very comfortable.

We had a very good time at our hybrid meeting on 7/8. We had a guest in person and a guest on Zoom, too. We were able to present Melissa with her prestigious award as our “Sparkplug of the Year”! Joe gave a very researched and educational speech on the war in Ukraine. We lamented the heat but still found time to reflect on the joys of pie, cake and ice cream with Toastmaster Karen.
We meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays hybridly and on Zoom only on the third Wednesday of each month. Stop by and see us at the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce at 5pm on the second and fourth Wednesdays.

We are definitely aware of the “Dog Days of Summer”, our theme for our 6/24 hybrid meeting at the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce. Jeannie and Joe joined us on Zoom. Toastmaster Karen spoke on the Distinguished Club Program. Our new members made sure we qualified! Carrie kept us within time limits. General Evaluator Sandra reminded us of our achievements as we bring in a new slate of officers on 7/1. Joe led Table Topics and educated us about the now sizzling summer sky.
We look forward to seeing Patrick, Cindy, Melissa, Eva and Gary at our next meeting on 7/8. Have a wonderful 4th of July!

We love it when guests and members join us for our Zoom only meetings the third Wednesday of every month! Our Father’s Day theme on 6/17 connected us with D115 leaders Rose Davis, DTM, our Division C Director, and Karen Johnson, DTM, Division B Director. Sandra, Joe, Patrick and Karen D. joined in for a fun and educational hour. Lesson learned: it is so great to have a pocket speech in your repertoire! Thank you, Karen Johnson, DTM!

What an interesting meeting on 6/10. We couldn’t use a computer for our Zoom participants, so we took turns hand-holding an iphone. Our topic covered elections in general, with no politics. We used an extended Table Topics session, hosted by our newest member, Jeannie, to hear about everyone’s experiences throughout their voting lives.
Next Wednesday we will be Zoom only, which is your perfect chance to fit in a speech and get very personalized feedback. See you at 5pm Wednesday on Zoom!
