🆘 EMERGENCY HIT BY CAR ‼️

Yesterday, we received a message about a dog who was found suffering injuries from being hit by a car. Nobody in the neighborhood recognized or came to claim him; so without hesitation we stepped in to help!

Suffering from a broken femur, scarring on his face, and even popped blood vessels in his eyes from being hit so hard…it is extremely disheartening that whoever did this, didn’t even have the heart to stop and help him. 💔
We are so grateful for the kind people who got him to safety and kept him comfortable while reaching out to us. 🙏

We have named him George. He had surgery today at Affordable Animal Surgery to remove his broken leg, and while under he also got neutered and microchipped!

George is settling into foster, getting lots of love and snuggles while he adjusts to life on 3 legs 🐕

His surgery today ran us just about $1k.

💔 We honestly don’t know how much longer Bo can do this.

Day after day, Bo and Bella wait in boarding. While Bella is hanging in there as best she can, Bo is struggling. The shelter was scary. Boarding is scary. And for a cat who just wants a quiet corner and a familiar face, this environment is taking a toll.

The only thing keeping him going is his sister.

These two spent years together in a home. Now they’re confined to a kennel, wondering what happened and why their world changed overnight.

Bo doesn’t need much. He doesn’t need a mansion or a perfect setup. He just needs a safe, quiet place where he can decompress, feel secure, and remember what it’s like to be a cat instead of a boarding resident.

We’re begging for a foster to open their home to Bo and Bella. Even a temporary foster would change everything for them.

Please help us get these sweet siblings out of boarding and back into a home environment where they can finally relax and heal. ❤️‍🩹

❤️🐾 OPERATION MAVERICK UPDATE 🐾❤️

We have some encouraging news to share!

Maverick’s veterinary exam went well, and his bloodwork looks good overall. At this time, his only major medical concern is severe emaciation. The best news? He’s eating, drinking, and going potty normally—great signs that he’s ready to begin healing.

Maverick is now safe in his foster home, surrounded by love, soft beds, full bellies, and plenty of cuddles. ❤️

His recovery will take time. To safely help him gain weight and avoid refeeding syndrome, he’ll be eating small meals four times a day and receiving weekly weigh-ins so we can carefully monitor his progress.

Despite everything he’s been through, Maverick continues to amaze us. He is gentle, sweet, and incredibly loving. Looking at him, it’s hard to understand how anyone could let a dog reach this condition.

The shelter estimated him to be around 5 years old, but we aren’t so sure. As he regains weight and muscle, we’ll learn more about the dog Maverick truly is meant to be.

While we’re relieved by this update, his journey is just beginning. Ongoing veterinary care, quality nutrition, supplements, and follow-up appointments will all be part of helping him become the healthy dog he deserves to be.

🚨 WOODY IS SAFE, BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🚨

With a new beginning comes a new name…

Meet Maverick. ❤️

The moment we saw this boy at the shelter, we knew we couldn’t leave him behind. We knew he deserved a chance. We knew he deserved help. And most importantly, we knew he deserved a loving place to heal.
Today, Maverick left the shelter behind and is now safe with Vegas Pet Rescue Project.

Maverick is one of the most emaciated dogs we have seen since Raider and Tallulah. Every rib, every vertebrae, and every hip bone is visible. He is weak, severely underweight, and has a long road to recovery ahead of him. Despite everything he has been through, he remains incredibly sweet and trusting. When we arrived to pick him up, he allowed us to gently carry him to the car in the scorching Las Vegas heat, placing all of his trust in complete strangers.

Right now, we are on our way to Rhodes Ranch Animal Hospital to make sure Maverick is stable, determine what medical care he needs, and ensure he does not require emergency intervention.
We don’t know what his future holds yet, but we do know this:

❤️ He will never have to suffer alone again.

As we begin Maverick’s journey back to health, we are asking our incredible community to help us give him every chance possible.

Veterinary care, diagnostics, medications, nutritious food, and ongoing treatment will add up quickly.

Our playoff run may be over, but our loyalty isn’t.

These pups were ready to cheer the Knights all the way to the Cup, and while this season didn’t end how we wanted, we’re still proud of our team and grateful for another year of Vegas hockey.

Now we’ll spend the offseason doing what we do best: rescuing pets, finding homes, and patiently waiting for October. 🐾🏒

🚨 EMERGENCY INTAKE: Meet Lady and Her Royal Litter! 👑🐾 🚨

Sometimes rescue steps in at exactly the right moment.

Lady’s owner is currently experiencing homelessness, and just five days ago, sweet Lady gave birth to her seven puppies on the streets of Las Vegas. As much as her owner loves her, the streets are no place for a newborn litter to be raised. When we learned about their situation, we knew we had to help.

Thanks to an amazing foster, Lady and her babies are now safe and off the streets where they belong. ❤️

Lady is an incredibly loving, gentle mama who is doing a wonderful job caring for her little ones. We are so grateful to be able to help her raise these babies and eventually find each of them the loving forever homes they deserve.

👑 Meet Queenie Victoria 👑

This beautiful Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix is estimated to be 2-3 years old and has come such a long way since entering rescue.

Queenie was found abandoned in the desert outside of Victorville pregnant. Understandably, she was terrified of people, unsure of her surroundings, and struggling with weakness in her back legs. Since then, she’s given birth in foster care to a beautiful liter of babies— our “Friends” liter, she’s been working hard in water therapy, and in training to gain confidence. We couldn’t be prouder of the progress she’s made.

With the help of the amazing team at rehab4pawslv , Queenie completed water therapy to strengthen her back legs and build confidence in her body. She has also worked with Pawtastic Friends for training, where she’s continued learning valuable skills and gaining confidence in the world around her.

Today, Victoria is potty trained, loves her daily walks, and will do just about anything for a tasty treat. She knows how to wait, is learning to come when called, and continues to blossom a little more every day.

Queenie can be shy when meeting new people and will need a patient adopter willing to earn her trust. But once you do, you’ll be rewarded with the sweetest smile, a curious spirit, and a loyal companion. She enjoys playing with small dogs, though she hasn’t shown much interest in dogs her own size.

Smart, resilient, and just a little stubborn— in true Pyrenees fashion 😜, Queenie Victoria is proof that love and patience can change a life. After everything she’s overcome, she’s ready to find a family of her very own.
