I am looking for help for my dachshund Mercedes! She is a 10-year-old dapple female dachshund. She is very smart, very lovable, and very stubborn. She enjoys her friend squirrel that comes to visit every day. She has a two-legged pig named Bob, no one is allowed to touch him. She is obsessed with squeaky balls carries them everywhere.
Three months ago she was treated protein losing enteropathy. She had testing and x-rays for the fluid around her heart and the bill was $900 which I am still paying on. She has been doing much better with special food and steroids. Now she is faced with another problem, she has a tumor on her toe. They need to remove her toe and the estimate for the surgery is a little over $900. I’m 80 years old and living on Social Security. I got Mercedes when my husband of 50 years passed away. I was very lonely She is a lifesaver. I don't know what I would do without her she gives me a reason to get up in the morning.
