UPDATE: Following our Monday board meeting, we successfully reinforced our infrastructure by eliminating non-essential elements that do not support our mission. On Tuesday, the Secretary of State fully reinstated David's Legacy LLC, enabling us to continue our vital work with Golisano Children’s at UK in Kentucky, which remains our primary focus. We are pleased to announce that our next event, the annual Poker Run, is scheduled for September 19, 2026. Further details will be shared as plans progress. We invite you to join us in celebrating David's 30th birthday and help make this year the most memorable one yet.

We have a local family whose house was destroyed by fire on April 20th. The mother reached out to me today to let me know that they are moving into a new house today and need help with household items. Furniture. Bedding. Dishes. Towels and washcloths. Etc. If anyone has anything that they can donate to help the family, please reach out to me so that we can help them get back on their feet. This is a family that consists of a mom dad and three children under the age of 10. They have enough clothing that's been donated, but they need everything else. Including food.

After deliberating with the board members who are currently available, we have decided to continue with our operations without interruption. Behind the scenes, we are making concerted efforts to rectify the issues at hand and bolster our commitment to our core mission and purpose. David's Legacy regrets to inform that it will cease operations due to unforeseen circumstances. Internal conflicts, health issues, and funding constraints have compelled us to dissolve, despite plans to celebrate our namesake's 30th year in grand style. During our brief yet impactful four-year existence, we touched the lives of thousands of hospitalized children and communities hit by natural disasters. We will ensure the delivery of this year's toys over the coming weeks. We convey our sincerest gratitude to all who have been part of this incredible journey.

Tomorrow marks the big day, and the forecast appears promising with clear skies and a temperature of 64°, making it perfect weather for a polar run. The ride is expected to be enjoyable, and the evening will feature a chili dinner, door prizes, scavenger hunt prizes, bake sale items, auction and raffle items, and a 50/50 raffle. Following last year's successful event, we are confident that this year's event will surpass expectations. With a ride start time of 11:00, we invite everyone to join in the festivities, riders and non-riders alike.

We would like to thank everyone who has helped spread the word about our upcoming event. The event will take place on Saturday and promises to be an exciting day. We will be providing a hot meal to all riders, and an auction, for prizes, and raffles will follow. A $5 admission fee will be charged to non-riders attending the after-party. With each passing year, our event grows and becomes more enjoyable, and we look forward to seeing you there.

Our goal was 30 items every month for the entire year, to be donated to different medical facilities for children. The weather knocked us out of being able to do that in january, so we have reset the goal to do the deliveries every 3 months instead of every month. But still collecting 30 items per month for those deliveries. There's not been a lot of time to post, but there is always work going on behind the scenes. And with the massive sale going on at the dollar general, I was able to pick up these super soft blankets for $3 each towards our goal. I'm going to hit every store in my area and see just how many I can accumulate by day's end.
