Our mission:
To educate, support, and advocate for foster, kinship, and adoptive families, ensuring every child grows up in a safe, nurturing home.

And there’s a reason regulate comes first. 😅

Because nobody’s processing a life lesson when their nervous system is in full meltdown mode.

💙 Meet our new Board President!

Alex brings six years of experience as a foster parent, a background in international child protection, and a nursing career rooted in trauma-informed care to her leadership at the Colorado State Foster Parent Association.

Her work has taken her from supporting children and families with organizations like Save the Children and the International Rescue Committee to caring for critically ill children at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Today, she serves as a Forensic Nurse Examiner and Gynecology Nurse, caring for people who have experienced abuse.

As a foster parent preparing to adopt two young girls, Alex understands how deeply personal the child welfare journey can be. She is passionate about listening to foster families, strengthening partnerships, and building a more responsive, transparent, and supportive system for children and those who care for them.

We’re excited to welcome Alex to this role! Join us in welcoming her in the comments. 👏

CSFPA members, join us at SweetPlay on October 16th from 5:30–8:00 PM for an evening just for the kids — and a few kid-free hours for you! 🎉
