Lake Havasu City Proclaims October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month!🩷

Lake Havasu City Mayor Cal Sheehy was joined by Cancer Care Resource volunteers proudly dressed in pink as he proclaimed October Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Our volunteers are already working hard to prepare for the 3rd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, honoring Breast Friends of Havasu, celebrating all breast cancer survivors, supporting those currently fighting, and remembering the loved ones we have lost.

Please join Event Chairs Rebecca Claas, Anita Gilkey, and Devin White, along with our incredible team of volunteers, for this meaningful community event.

⏰ Rally begins at 7:30 a.m and the walk begins at 8am.
📍 The stage under the London Bridge

Wear pink with pride—and red, white, and blue by your side!

• Breast cancer survivors: Free
• Pink hats: $15

Thank you to Randy of Give Back Painting for your $200 donation to Rose Marie Eaton, chairman of Cancer Care Resource. The donation came from a percentage of proceeds from Randy's painting jobs and will help support cancer-related programs and services provided to the community by Cancer Care Resource, which operates under the Heidi Edwards Cooking for Cancer Foundation, a 5010(3) nonprofit.

We love being able to help our community. We were recently able to give out a scholarship to nursing student to Siena Snedeker, the first recipient of the organization's scholarship for Mohave College students pursuing careers in health professions. Snedeker, is working toward her LPN, is employed at Havasu Regional Medical Center while balancing family responsibilities as a wife and mother of seven and maintaining a 3.8 GPA.
