What if we told you it's possible to spy on wildlife? 🥸

📡 A Motus radio antenna installed at Ryerson Conservation Area in Riverwoods scans for tiny tags attached to birds, bats and large insects.

Last fall, it detected a wood thrush (𝘏𝘺𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘭𝘢 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘢) that journeyed 1,800 miles from Lake County to Jardín Botánico Lancetilla in Honduras.

Lake Forest Pack 46 participated in Highland Park Pack 34’s 2026 Pinewood Derby today. Parent and child race teams compete in a STEM project making a unique pinewood derby car from a block of pine. It must weigh no more than 5 ounces, and has some other requirements.

Legends were made!

This was the 73rd year of the running of the pinewood derby.

Cub Scouts is open to boys and girls from the local area, in and around Lake Forest. Ages K-5.

Tomorrow evening, Tuesday January 13 from 6:30-7:15. We will be meeting at First Pres. in Lake Forest. It's still a good time to join Cub Scouts.

Boys, Girls too, from grades K-5.

If you have older siblings (Grades 6 and up), they are welcome at the Scout Troop meeting that begins at 7:30 and goes through 8:30.
