Dennis McNett brought mask-making magic during his time as an artist in residence and now he’s back for a full exhibition in TRAX Visual Art Center!

Join us June 12th from 6-8PM for an opening reception to get the first look at the exhibition, plus enjoy refreshments and the opportunity to chat with Dennis about his process.

This exhibition was awarded during the 2025 ArtFields Festival where Dennis was selected as an Exhibition Award Winner.

Can’t make opening night? TRAX Visual Art Center is free and open to the public Tuesday - Saturday for the duration of the exhibition.

As our next artist in residence finishes her time in Lake City, we invite the community to join us for a drop in workshop!

Visit 221 Rodgers Avenue from 10AM to 1PM on Saturday, May 30th to get creative with your children as you lead and follow each other in artistic exploration😍

Artist in Residence Mills Brown will also guide children as they create a take home canvas. This drop in workshop is best suited for ages 1-6, but all are welcome!

Welcome to our next artist in residence, Mills Brown!!

We’re thrilled to have Mills in Lake City for the next two weeks and can’t wait for her community workshop. Save the date for May 30th from 10AM to 1PM🤩

Meet the Artist⤵️
Mills Brown is a visual artist based in Oxford, UK. Mills works with painting, drawing and animation to explore themes of memory, safety and family. Originally from South Carolina, Mills embraces a Southern Gothic sensibility where the supernatural exists alongside the mundane. She is interested in ordinary moments of domestic life and family stories that refuse to settle neatly into the past. Recent work explores new parenthood, illustrating quiet scenes of shared wonder and protectiveness. Mills holds an MFA in Studio Art from American University and a BA in English and Art History from Wofford College. Mills has exhibited in Oxford, London, Washington, Charleston and Lake City. She works at Modern Art Oxford to design participatory opportunities for families to play and create through engagement with contemporary art.

ARTISPHERE x ARTFIELDS

We’re having so much fun at our booth at 🤩

Being part of this celebration of art in the upstate to promote “First People’s Project: Art of the Native South” has been such a meaningful experience.

We’ve had a variety of demonstrations so far from artist Beckee Garris including pinch pots and pine needle baskets.

Today (5/10) the fun continues with corn husk dolls. Stop by and see us next to the Peace Center and make your plans to visit for the exhibitions and programming this fall in Lake City!
