West Shore Civic Association West Shore Civic Association (WSCA) is an all volunteer Non-profit 501(c)3 serving the communities on the West Shore of Lake Whitney in Bosque County, Texas.

WSCA is a Temporary Emergency Shelter and the only voting location for Precinct 1. West Shore Civic Association exists to connect and improve our community. WSCA operates as a bipartisan, all volunteer 501(c)3 organization. WSCA manages and operates a community building which provides a high quality facility for a range of activities for local citizens. West Shore Civic Association plays a vital r

ole in our rural community as a designated Red Cross Shelter and serves as the only voting location for our Precinct. WSCA also sponsors a monthly public forum (2nd Tuesday of every month at 630pm), free library, TXDOT adopt a highway, annual community clean-up, Santa’s Angels of Laguna Park and various other community enriching programs. We strive to continuously update the building to meet the changing needs of our community, both now and in the future. West Shore Civic Association desires to improve the lives of our neighbors by providing and maintaining accommodations for local community groups in both private and public sector organisations in order to enhance local services for residents. The building may also be rented for private use. We seek to develop activities through partnerships that increase participation in civic life, including through providing opportunities for volunteering and involvement in local decision-making. Last night's meeting was very informative. We met with some local businesses and learned about their products and services available for us to help support local businesses!
Many thanks and congratulations for being part of the west shore of Lake Whitney goes to Riverplace Art Gallery and Riverplace Realty, Pam Nelms of Coldwell Banker Realty, Clifton Vap and Smoke and Clifton Concepts.
It was a fantastic pot-luck supper and some great conversations!
Mention was made regarding our next event, which is our annual Independence Parade. On July 4th, 2026, decorated vehicles, Golf carts, atvs, etc., are welcome to join us at 5 pm with the parade leaving the center at 6pm, running our parade route led by the West Shore Volunteer Fire Department. There will be 3 prizes given for decorated vehicles. To enter the parade and be eligible for a prize, there will be a suggested donation of $10 and/or the fire department would like to request the equivalent of $10 in canned goods to be presented to a local food bank in memory of Jackie Lawson, a great supporter of our community that we recently lost.

We just had a very successful car show on May 9th. Beautiful cars along with some good eats. If you didn't get there, you really missed out on a great Saturday.

Our next event will be on Saturday, May 23rd, from 11-2, where we will be serving hamburgers or 2 hot dogs with all the fixings, chips and a drink for a suggested donation of $10. While enjoying the holiday weekend, stop by and get a quick lunch with us!

At our potluck dinner/meeting on June 9th, we will be hearing about services and goods offered by our local businesses. More on that to come.

We hope to see you there. Our guest speaker will be from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department!
We also want to remind you that we will be cooking up hot dogs and hamburgers on Saturday May 23rd (the Saturday before Memorial Day) from 11-2 as well as having a bake sale. So while you are out and about on the holiday weekend stop by and get a good inexpensive lunch and support WSCA's programs.

Saturday, May 9th is our 1st Spring Car Show and Bake Sale.

We will have some raffle items, unique trophies, and we will be serving Hamburgers and Gyros along with all the fixings. We will be there from 9-2 and we hope to see you there. Bake sale donations are needed and will be accepted from 2-6 pm on Friday the 8th.
We hope to see you then!
