Founded in 1959, the Waco Iris Society has been beautifying the community one iris at a time. What we do... WIS meetings are held on the third Saturday of the months of September, November, January, March, and May. Our meetings include special informative programs and other activities. Meetings begin at 10 A.M. at the Crestview Church of Christ Community Center, 7129 Delhi, in Waco, Texas. Each year we host a Spring Iris Show, open to anyone who wishes to enter. There is no charge for entry or admission to come to see at the beautiful blossoms, artistic designs, and educational displays. On the last Saturday of September, we have a sale of iris rhizomes which members bring for sale to the public at very reasonable prices. We welcome all guests and visitors to our meetings and events. We encourage membership in the Waco Iris Society as well as membership in the American Iris Society. As a Guest you can attend the meetings and events; learn from informative programs; enjoy fellowship and refreshments. As a Member you can enjoy the additional benefits of membership: Iris Giveaway - Each year, we order recently introduced iris from various hybridizers and growers across the United States. Each active member* receives at least one free rhizome to cultivate and share in future years. Additional irises are auctioned off, frequently at greatly discounted prices. (*Active members are those who attend at least three (3) meetings during the club year and have assisted in either the Iris Show or Rhizome Sale.) AIS Membership Drawings - As a member, when you attend the scheduled meetings, you are eligible for a drawing for a one-year membership to the American Iris Society (AIS). How to join... Fill out one of our membership forms. Membership is only $10 per year per person.
