❤️⚾️ Our August Neighborhood Hero was pretty special!

This week, we had the incredible honor of recognizing Coach Ray Jauregui as our August Neighborhood Hero ~ during a pretty unforgettable moment for our community.

We were so grateful to present Ray with his award during the City’s parade & celebration honoring our LM Little League Junior League WORLD CHAMPIONS! 🌎🏆⚾️

It made an already special recognition even sweeter to have Ray’s family, players, fellow coaches & so many members of our community there to share in the moment.

One of our favorite parts came afterward, when Ray’s dad ~ clearly one very proud father ~ asked us for a copy of the words we had shared about his son. ❤️ (Loved this moment!)

Because while this World Championship gave our entire community an exciting reason to celebrate Coach Ray, his Neighborhood Hero nomination was about so much more than one championship season.

Ray has spent years volunteering his time & pouring into La Mirada’s young people through Little League, soccer, competitive sports, junior high athletics & now as a JV baseball coach at La Mirada High School.

He’s coached rec teams and All-Star teams. He’s helped develop soccer teams that went on to win the 2024 Cal South State Cup. And this year, as head coach of our LM Little League Juniors All-Star team, he led an incredible group of young men all the way to the Junior League Baseball World Series ~ where they became WORLD CHAMPIONS. 🌎🏆

But the true impact of a great coach isn’t measured only in wins and losses.

It’s measured in the young people they help shape.
Through sports, Ray has spent years teaching discipline, accountability, teamwork, perseverance, respect, leadership & what it means to show up for one another. And, man, he’s funny too!!

And then there’s the photo we’re sharing of Ray as a young La Mirada All-Star himself. 🥹⚾️

Ray, the championship is extraordinary. But so are all the years that came before it ~ the years of showing up, volunteering, mentoring, encouraging and believing in La Mirada’s kids.

Thank you, truly, for your years of service to LM youths and families!! ♥️⚾️

🏆 LA MIRADA, IT’S TIME TO CELEBRATE! 🏆

Come out and celebrate the La Mirada Little League Junior League World Series Champions on Tuesday, August 25!

🚗 Championship Parade begins at 5:30 PM at Behringer Park and travels down Alicante Road to La Mirada Boulevard before ending at City Hall.

💙💛 Line the route! Park along Alicante, bring your signs, wear your La Mirada gear and make some noise as the team passes by!

⭐ Civic Center Celebration
• Team introduction at 6:00 PM
• City Council recognition at 6:30 PM

Let’s pack the route and Civic Center and give these WORLD CHAMPIONS the hometown celebration they deserve! 🏆⚾️💙💛

What a GIFT the Junior Little League team has given our entire community! ⚾️❤️

The past few weeks the La Mirada Little League brought the community together ~ to cheer, celebrate, and share in something so special. 💙

Thanks to the La Mirada Chamber of Commerce for partnering with us for a watch party ~ So much hometown pride in one room! ⚾️🙌🏼

Congratulations to these incredible players, coaches, and families ~ you’ve given all of La Mirada something to celebrate! ❤️

⚾️💙 TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY 🇺🇸🏆

Since announcing our Community Watch Party, we’ve seen a couple of other watch parties pop up around town too ~ and how great is that?! 🙌🏼 Our community is showing up for these kids! 💙

Wherever you choose to watch tomorrow, we’re just so grateful to see La Mirada coming together to celebrate and support this incredible team and all they’ve accomplished! ⚾️

And of course, we’d LOVE to have you join us! 🎉
