Today we had the joy of honoring not just a person ~ but a place and a team that truly embody what it means to love our community. 💙
Love La Mirada is proud to recognize AMPM on Valley View and their incredible manager, Suzy Villalobos, as this month’s Neighborhood Hero! 👏🏼
If you’ve ever met Suzy, you’ve probably heard her say: “We just like to give back.” And she means it.
This local AMPM consistently shows up for La Mirada in ways both big and small:
✨ Every 4th of July, they donate hot dogs, buns, and chips to the Rotary Club of La Mirada - supporting their booth, which raises funds for our local schools.
✨ When they learned about our local Make-A-Wish child whose package was stolen (and later recovered), Suzy stepped in and donated $100 toward his trip spending money, because they care.
✨ When last year’s Mayor’s Community Breakfast honored our first responders, Suzy personally handcrafted thank-you gifts for each of them.
✨ Throughout the year, they create fun storefront experiences—offering free goodies, and even hosting visits from Santa and the Easter Bunny to bring joy to local families.
This isn’t just a convenience store. This is a business with a heart. A team that pays attention. A place that gives back again and again—generously and consistently.
Suzy and her team remind us that being a Neighborhood Hero isn’t about recognition—it’s about impact. And they are making a beautiful one right here in La Mirada. 💛
