Nina woke up today ready for breakfast…then everything changed.

⚠️WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT⚠️The video contains footage of one of Nina’s seizures.

Our sweet blind Nina was making so much progress. Gaining weight, going on walks, getting energy. But this week has been hard for her
We started her on seizure medication just a few weeks ago, making these breakthrough seizures. She is now receiving IV medications, bloodwork has revealed she is mildly anemic, another ultrasound is being performed, and she will be evaluated by a neurologist as soon as possible.

The estimate for her emergency care (included in the video) is currently $4,500–$6,700, and that does NOT include a potential MRI. We won’t know until she is evaluated by the neurologist.

🙏🏻 We need YOUR help RIGHT NOW to give Nina every chance possible. 🙏🏻 Donations can be made at:

🙏🏻 Zelle: [email protected]

🙏🏻 Venmo: (under the Business tab)

🙏🏻 PayPal: [email protected]

We are incredibly grateful that Nina is stable at the moment. She is eating, drinking, and walking on her own. However, seizure clustering is VERY serious and can quickly become life-threatening.

Comment ❤️‍🩹 for Nina!
Please share Nina’s story.

Please keep precious Nina in your thoughts and prayers 🙏🏻❤️‍🩹🙏🏻❤️‍🩹🙏🏻

🐾 Slater: Only One Kidney, but the Biggest Heart 🐾

Looking for a loyal companion who knows how to share the love? Slater, our handsome grey pup who is on the lookout for his forever home!

Slater is a special guy in more ways than one. He was born with just one kidney, but that doesn’t slow him down or stop him from living life to the absolute fullest. While he can sometimes be a little leash reactive—hey, nobody’s perfect, right?—he proves every single day just how much of a gentleman he truly is.
Take a look at his perfect manners in this video! 🥹👇

Every day on his walk, Slater stops by to visit a neighborhood dog who doesn't ever get the chance to go out for walks. Instead of reacting, Slater sits politely so they can share some love and give her a daily treat. Talk about a dog with an incredible soul!
If you're looking for a sweet, smart, and empathetic pup to add to your family, Slater might just be your perfect match.

They took in over half a million dollars in just one year while shooting and burying dogs 🤬 let that sink in.

From what we heard, many in the rescue community have known for years that dogs were disappearing. So thankful the woman bought the property next door and blew the lid wide open on this!

A search warrant was just served. No arrests yet, but the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating. If you know anything, reach out to them directly.

We just posted about Enzo this week who we helped after he was abandoned by another s**t, fraud rescue. Who knows what would have happened to him.

How is this becoming the norm? Forget the excuses, there are NONE! We are watching every week rescues pulling too many dogs. We see you doing it! STOP!!! Whether you are new or have been doing it for years. STOP 🛑 NOW!

You need help, you are failing dogs. There are NO magical sanctuaries. Stop pulling just for the save from the shelter, and the pledge money and actually do YOUR job.

We know it’s not easy, we’ve been doing it for 16 years! Commit to the dogs, get them training, get them medical care, follow through. When fosters give up, find another, find solutions! We know the money runs out, we battle it too…but we pause for intakes when funds are low like they are right now. This is YOUR job you took on when you saved the life.

From SUFP and we agree with this whole heartedly…
“Our hope is this horrifying case will not only hold everyone accountable but will set a presendence to grifting con artists that real consequences will be had for those who use shelter/rescue dogs for their own sick and diabolical agenda. Finding out why these municipalities were sending so many dogs will be interesting too. Every single dog murdered deserves justice. If you have information about this case the authorities have asked to continue spreading awareness and for people to step forward.”

Oakland’s shelter director learned one of his dogs was dead through a photo of a mass grave. San Jose sent 140 dogs to Miranda’s Rescue in Fortuna. Santa Clara County sent over 100. 7 Bay Area agencies trusted this rescue, and paid them up to $1,450 per dog.

Fred and Friends!!!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Fred’s Review as a House Host: "Very welcoming, excellent at sharing blankets and toys, and highly skilled at morning, midday, and afternoon nap-ins. Professional sunbather.”

Fred’s foster family recently hosted a friend’s dog (the gorgeous white Pibble you see here) for a staycation. Not only is Fred (our handsome, all-grey boy) incredibly sweet, but he was also the first to welcome his new house guest with open paws—and a gentle side-eye just to make sure they were getting comfortable. 🥹 Let's just say they became instant best buds... though we actually found someone who parties harder than Fred! 🤣 Our boy literally couldn’t keep up!!

Looking at him snuggle, you’d never know how far he has come. Fred was found left tied to a fence for days in LA as a young pup, literally dying. Saved by the Stand Up For Pits Foundation, we stepped in and officially made Fred an OCPBR dog. 🧡

Today, Fred is living his absolute best life and is ready for his forever home:
🐾 Fully trained!
🐱 Loves big dogs and cats (small dogs haven't been tested yet).
🏡 Would thrive best in an adult-only home (only because he's a happy little bowling ball who might accidentally knock over young kiddos!).
❤️ Looking for a patient forever human willing to help him continue to be the bestest boy.

Fred has gone from a heartbreaking beginning to being the most perfect, welcoming foster brother. Now, he just needs a family of his own.

🙏🏻 Gary’s pneumonia IS improving 🙏🏻

Our precious gentle giant is eating, taking short potty walks, dreaming of chasing critters, and showing us that sweet Gary spirit we love so much ❤️‍🩹

He is still coughing a few times a day, so his amazing temp fosters are keeping a close eye on him. Since he’s still contagious to other animals, we’re so grateful another temp foster stepped up to continue his care.

We are so grateful to those who donated thus far! Gary’s latest medical expense was $959. So far, we’ve received $211 in donations, which means we still need help covering the rest.

We will always provide whatever our dogs need, but we can’t do it without our village.

Please help Gary heal:

☀️🌴 Nina’s holiday weekend consisted of sunbathing, poolside lounging, and soaking up every little sound around her 🩷

Our precious blind senior girl is enjoying a little staycation at another temp foster home for the next few weeks, and watching her experience the world is truly something special.

She may not see the sunshine sparkling on the water… but she feels its warmth. She may not see the people around her… but her big, perfect ears hear everything. 🥹 Watching those ears perk up and move with every sound is one of the sweetest things in the world.

Nina reminds us that joy doesn’t always come from what we can see — sometimes it’s in the warmth of the sun, the breeze in the air, and the comfort of feeling safe and loved 💕

While she enjoys her little holiday weekend, we are still searching for a long-term committed foster for this beautiful senior girl 🏡 She deserves a soft place to land, stability, love, and someone willing to help her continue navigating the world safely and confidently.

Could that someone be you? If you’re interested in opening your heart and home to Nina, please email us at [email protected]
