Prayer is one of the greatest gifts God has given His people. Through prayer, we bring our needs, concerns, praises, and burdens before Him. It is also one of the most meaningful ways we can care for one another. When we pray for others, we remind them that they are not alone and that God is at work even in the midst of difficult circumstances.
Luke 5:18-19
"Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus."
In the story of the paralytic man, his friends carried him to Jesus because he could not get there on his own. Their faith led them to lower him through the roof and place him before Christ. Prayer often works in a similar way. We may not be able to fix every problem someone faces, but we can faithfully bring them before Jesus and trust Him to meet them where they are.
At Orchard Home Ministries, we believe prayer is an essential part of life together. Through our branches, podcast, Bible in a Year group, and ongoing community throughout the week, we seek to encourage one another, bear one another's burdens, and grow together in Christ. How can we pray for you this week?
Who is someone you can bring before Jesus in prayer this week? And how can you encourage them by letting them know you're praying for them?
