La Mesa Lions Club

La Mesa Lions Club La Mesa Lions Club members are men and women who strive to make a difference in their local community as well as in communities worldwide.

THE LA MESA LIONS CLUB

La Mesa Lions Club was chartered April 29, 1949. The Club includes more than 45 men and women members who meet each Tuesday at noon at the La Mesa Community Center. Fellowship is at the very heart of Lionism and is never more evident than at La Mesa Lions Club meetings. Our social events are a great deal of fun--ranging from theatre outings to “A Day at the Races.” We know

how to have a good time! Our primary fund-raising projects include an annual Spaghetti Dinner in May, an annual Golf Tournament in memory of Lions Jack Hardebeck and Dr. Bill Soldmann, Jr. in September and a High Tea in February. The Club undertakes a wide variety of service activities including the collection of eye glasses for the Lions in Sight Project, yard work at Sharp Hospice Care’s LakeView Home; Lions Student Speakers Contest, Lemon Avenue and La Mesa Dale Elementary School Sponsorship, Lions Youth Exchange Program, Blood Drives for the San Diego Blood Bank and the collection of hearing aids and books for the disadvantaged. Please see our Club Projects page. Each year the Club elects new officers for the subsequent year, July 1 - June 30. We take our commitment “to serve” very seriously, but it’s always nice to receive recognition for service well performed-both on an individual and club level.
