weekly good news!!!
Anti-LGBTQ+ laws in Hungary, established in 2021, banned “promotion of homosexuality or gender change to under-18s” under the argument of child protection. These laws were recently found, by the EU’s highest courts, to be a breach of EU rules—especially regarding bans on discrimination based on sex/sexual orientation, respect for private and family life, and freedom of expression and information. While the law has not yet been formally repealed, the court expects Hungary to “comply without delay,” so citizens are hopeful that their freedoms will be restored within the year.
