Rotary of Kosciusko enjoyed having Tim Pinkard, Circuit Clerk of Attala County and Tina White, Deputy Clerk, as our guest speaker this week. Those in attendance learned about the duties that the office oversees for our community.

Kosciusko Rotary Club Centennial Celebration

The Kosciusko Rotary Club held its Centennial Celebration this past Saturday evening at The Carousel House in downtown Kosciusko. The Club selected four community members to receive the “Service Above Self” award. Those honored were as follows:
Dr. Tim Alford, Mr. Hollis Cheek, Mr. Stephen Franks and Mrs. Teresa Trussell for their inspiring contributions and service throughout our community.

Outgoing President, Andrew Frank, passed the gavel to incoming President Melissa Boswell Townsend. Andrew served as President for two years and did an amazing job for the club during his tenure. Past presidents in attendance were Johnny Boswell, Michelle Nicholson, Dr. Larry Routt, and Curtis Turnbo.

Thank you to all who attended and made this an incredible event for Kosciusko Rotary.

We are so proud of Kosciusko Rotarian Michelle Nicholson.

Today I was pinned as Rotary District 6820 Governor Nominee, meaning I will serve Central Mississippi as Governor 2027-28. At that point I will be the FIRST 6820 Governor from Kosciusko (George Thornton was the last Kosciusko Governor in 1949 when Koscoukso was a part of 6800), the 6th 6820 female governor, and the youngest 6820 Governor.

It’s very humbling and overwhelming to think of all the District Governors that have worn this pin that I look up to because of their dedication to service and leadership. Im so thankful the Lord placed them in my life! I love this organization and what it means for our communities, state, and worldwide. I am super excited to come alongside our current Governor and Governor Elect and see how our District can grow over the next few years!

Thank you Laken Milner for being our special guest this week at Rotary. Laken is a 3rd year student at UMMC and is part of the Occupational Therapy Doctorate program.
