Rue Update 🐴❤️

We have some encouraging news about Rue!

Today he is bright, alert, and acting much more like himself. Even better, his manure is becoming more formed, which means no more IV fluids! 🎉

I have to admit, my arms are pretty thankful for that. Since Thursday, I’ve been holding IV bags up twice a day, so I think I’ve earned a few extra muscles in the process! 🤣💪

Rue is still receiving his medications three times a day, but we are definitely moving in the right direction. His veterinarian will be checking on him again Monday, and we are hopeful that his progress continues.

Thank you to everyone who has been keeping Rue in your thoughts, sharing his updates, and supporting us through this challenge. Your encouragement means so much to all of us.

Enjoy this video of Rue feeling better and sharing some sweet kisses! 😘🐴

Please continue to keep our little guy in your prayers and positive thoughts.

Rue Update 🐴❤️

We wanted to share an update on Rue. Unfortunately, he has been experiencing some health challenges again. Thanks to the guidance and support of our veterinarian, we have been able to continue his care here at the farm rather than returning him to the clinic.

Today, Rue is looking much brighter, more alert, and much more like himself. While he is still dealing with diarrhea (scours), we are encouraged by the progress he has made and remain hopeful as we continue to monitor and treat him closely.

As many of you know, Rue’s first illness resulted in significant veterinary expenses, and we are still working to pay those bills while managing the costs associated with his current care. If you would like to help support Rue’s recovery, any donation—large or small—is greatly appreciated.

Wednesday night’s class started a little differently, with a rain shower keeping us under cover while we talked about herd mentality and the lessons horses can teach us about communication, leadership, trust, and connection.

Once the weather cleared, we headed outside with Stella and Blaze. Participants spent time grooming, practicing groundwork exercises, building confidence around the horses, and enjoying time in the saddle. From quiet moments of connection to encouraging one another through new experiences, the evening was filled with growth and support.

The horses reminded us that sometimes the strongest connections are made without saying a word.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make another meaningful night at Woerth It Hollow. 💙🐴🇺🇸

After some excitement changing fields, Rue decided he had earned a well-deserved break! 🐴❤️

Like mother, like son. Honey Bunny has always loved a good roll, and it looks like Rue is following right in her hoofprints. After exploring his new surroundings, he stretched out in the grass, kicked his legs in the air, and enjoyed the perfect foal-sized dust bath.

Meanwhile, Honey Bunny calmly grazed nearby, keeping an eye on her little guy while he showed off his rolling skills. If you know Honey Bunny, you know a good roll is one of her favorite activities! IYKYK. 😆

A special thank you to one of our wonderful volunteers for capturing these adorable moments of mama and baby enjoying life at the farm. 💚

After the lesson, it was time for one of everyone’s favorite parts of the evening—treats, brushing, and extra love for Blaze! Our participant helped care for Blaze after her ride and, as she likes to say, was finally able to take off her helmet, or her “hat.”

We also took some time for photos in front of the flagpole, capturing special moments with our participant. These moments remind us that our lessons are about so much more than riding—they’re about building confidence, friendships, skills, and memories.

A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers. Their dedication, patience, and support make lessons like this possible. From preparing horses and assisting participants to cheering on every success, they are an essential part of what we do at Woerth It Hollow.
