🎨 Heartland Art Club Members! 🎨 Submit your art to the Members' Showcase 2026!

Don't miss this opportunity to share your finest work with fellow members, friends, and art enthusiasts across the St. Louis area. We encourage every member to participate and submit their art, whether you are a seasoned exhibitor or showing with us for the first time.

The submission deadline is June 20, 2026. One entry accepted per member. All submissions accepted unless notified otherwise. No commission taken on sold artwork (Members' Showcase only). Exhibit dates are July 15 through August 15, 2026. Opening reception and awards ceremony will be July 18, 6–8pm.

Congratulations to our 2026 Signature Members, Chandan Mahanta, Dale Dicker, Elzara Yusufova, Julie Wiegand, Leslie Miller, Margaret von Kaenel, Michelle J Streiff, Sarah Ann Ball and Terry Lay. These artists have been juried into Signature status, recognized for mastery of their medium, consistency, and exceptional quality. Thank you to all who attended the opening reception of the Signature Member Showcase to welcome our newest members.

The Signature Members' Showcase will be on display through July 4, 2026. This exhibition highlights work that sets the standard and inspires artists at every level and is not to be missed!

Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday, noon to 5pm.

Figure painters, this one is worth your weekend. St. Louis artist Melissa Tychonievich is leading a two-day alla prima oil painting workshop on July 25-26, working from a live model in one long pose.

Each day starts with a demonstration, then you work through the painting yourself with personalized feedback from Melissa. The focus is on balancing form, color, value, and brushwork while painting the figure directly from life, no drawing or underpainting.
Melissa holds an MFA in Painting from the University of Miami and has exhibited nationally. She teaches at St. Louis Community College and St. Charles Community College.

Still life painters, this one's for you. Oregon artist Sarah Sedwick is coming to Kirkwood for a three-day workshop on alla prima oil painting, June 26-28.

Sarah's approach, Loose Realism, is about learning to stop sooner. Working with a six-color split-primary palette, you'll move from black-and-white studies to full color, building compositions with life and movement while keeping the freshness that overworked paintings lose. Big brushes, quick studies, and a step-by-step process you can actually take home.

We are thrilled to celebrate one of Heartland’s talented artists, Jo Jasper Dean, recently featured in St. Louis Homes + Lifestyles Magazine! 🎉

Happening NOW: Lisa Ober demonstrates the art of pastel to a very attentive class! The gallery is transformed with easels and workstations set up throughout the space, remaining open during these workshops, giving any visitors the chance to observe the students at work. Many are professional artists.
The energy of the gallery is simply wonderful to be a part of during these classes.

This summer Heartland Art Club is offering the AP Art & Design Summer Prep Workshop tailored to high school students enrolled in AP Art in the upcoming school year! Join instructors Mary Drastal and Stacey McAdams as they delve deeply into the Foundations of Art & Design, exploring elements, principles, composition, color, and contrast, with a focus on their relevance to the upcoming AP Art & Design Portfolio.

During this 6-week workshop, students will have the opportunity to experiment with various 2-D techniques and mediums under the guidance of both your teachers and visiting artists.
When: Tuesdays, July 7 – August 11, 2026, 9am – 12pm
Fee: $450*
