Project Safe and Sound

Project Safe and Sound helps first responders better assist individuals with mental impairments such as autism, schizophrenia, dementia, and other conditions.

Caregivers can voluntarily provide important information that may help Police, Fire, EMS, and Communications personnel better understand an individual’s needs and respond appropriately during an emergency or other call for service.

Information about the program, a contact person, and the necessary forms will be available through the link in the comments.

A huge thank you to Beth with Scouts for joining us and teaching everyone how to make straw rockets and catapults!

Who knew a few simple supplies could turn into so much fun?! πŸš€πŸŽ―

We love activities that let our RADD participants create, learn, laugh, and try something new together! πŸ’™

Thank you, Beth, for another RADD-tastic morning!

The NCDHHS Division of Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities
(EIPD) and the State Rehabilitation Council (SRC) are hosting a public forum on
Sept.10, 2026.

You are invited to join in-person or online for an informative conversation to learn more about the Division of Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (EIPD), ask questions, and share your concerns. If you are joining in-person, you will need to take a parking stub when entering the parking garage. Enter the building, go to the front desk to obtain a visitor badge. You will be escorted to the conference room. Once you arrive to the conference room, you can exchange your parking stub for a parking pass from Kim Schmidt, SRC Liaison. You will use the parking pass upon exiting the parking deck.
