We’ve officially sold out every Pig Yoga class this summer, which still feels a little surreal. Because so many of you have asked for another chance to join us, we’re opening ONE final class for the year!

Yesterday, after finishing work and sanctuary chores, I finally came up for air and discovered that the entire internet was furious about what is happening to our wild horses.

It was incredible to see that our friends at Skydog Sanctuary had spent the past year working relentlessly to investigate and uncover the truth about what is happening to these horses—and yesterday, The New York Times brought that investigation to the mainstream in a detailed exposé.

For years, sanctuaries and wild horse advocates like us have watched in horror as horses lose their federal protections through the BLM’s Sale Authority program. They can be sold for as little as $25, transferred through middlemen, and resold into the slaughter pipeline—all while the agency entrusted with protecting them looks the other way.

These incredible animals—symbols of the American West—have already been traumatized. They’ve lost their freedom. They’ve lost their families. And for far too many, their final fate is being loaded onto a slaughter truck, transported for hours in horrific conditions without adequate food or water, and shipped across our borders into Canada and Mexico to be slaughtered for meat.

It is unconscionable.

But right now, people are paying attention. And that matters.

Please follow Skydog Sanctuary and American Wild Horse Conservation to learn how you can take action and demand that Interior Secretary Doug Burgum suspend the Sale Authority program until these deadly loopholes are closed.

And please help fight for passage of the SAFE Act to protect America’s horses from slaughter.
