All good things must come to an end.
A decade ago I had this invision. A place where senior horses or horses that were forever seen as unusable could come and enjoy life. A retirement home for horses if you will. As the years went on I slowly started to make things happen with help from family, friends, and neighbors. In 2020 I finally registered as a non-profit. Then covid hit. I have 5 small children, 3 of which are grade school age and keeping up with everything has become difficult. Then on top of everything my husband reported back to a Submarine this past year as he serves in the United States Navy.
Just as things started to become more normal the cost of everything as you all are aware has sky skyrocketed. Our $340.00 a ton has turned into $555.00. Our $200.00 a week in grain has turned into $250.00 a week. Even our trims for farrier work went from donated time to $300.00 a visit. And the donations are disappearing and I can only imagine that it's because everyone is struggling.
So with that said.
I will be closing this page. But not giving up on the seniors.
And even though I won't be pursuing a 501c3 status or even continue the nonprofit. I have made a promise to them. This will be a forever home. I will do everything I possibly can for them to guarantee their safety.
I will have a link to our farm in the comment section if you wish to follow us there. And of course we will always appreciate any feed donations for our seniors.
With appreciation for those that have supported the seniors...we send our love.
