πŸ›οΈ The Texas Economic Development Council just wrapped its 2026 Mid-Year Conference in the Austin area (June 17–19), bringing together statewide leaders to shape the future of local business. The conversations happening in those rooms directly impact the economic climate OUR businesses operate in.

IBCC stays plugged into these policy and development conversations so our members are never left behind. When we have a seat at the table, Black entrepreneurs in Central Texas have a voice. πŸ’ͺ🏾 Follow us to stay informed on how state-level decisions affect your bottom line.

Today, we take a moment to honor Juneteenth. June 19th isn't just another date on the calendar; it is a profound milestone in our historyβ€”marking the day in 1865 when freedom finally reached the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas.

It’s a day of deep reflection, immense joy, and a reminder of the unyielding resilience that defines our culture. We celebrate the progress won, honor the ancestors who carried the hope of this day through the darkest times, and recommit ourselves to the ongoing journey toward true equality and liberation.

Wherever you are, take today to connect with community, uplift Black voices, and celebrate the culture. Happy Juneteenth, family.

Put "J19" in the comments to stand with us!

πŸ’° Funding your business just got a little brighter β€” even in a tough borrowing environment.

Yes, interest rates are still elevated and loans are harder to come by. But here's what many small business owners are missing: 2026 brings new tax credits for AI training, ADA accessibility upgrades, childcare support, and workforce development. That's real money back in your pocket.

Don't leave these credits on the table! Talk to your accountant or reach out to IBCC β€” we can help connect you to the right resources. What funding questions do you have? Ask us below! πŸ‘‡

πŸ›οΈ Nonprofits β€” this one's for you.

Government funding is shrinking. Political pressures are mounting. And the organizations doing the most important work in our communities are being asked to do more with less.

The good news? Nonprofits that are pivoting to digital β€” building online giving programs, diversifying revenue streams, and strengthening donor relationships β€” are finding new paths to sustainability. IBCC stands with the nonprofits in our community and wants to help you adapt and thrive.

Are you a nonprofit leader in Central Texas? Connect with us β€” let's build something sustainable together. πŸ’™

πŸš€ Did you know 58% of small businesses are now using AI β€” up from 40% just last year? That's not a trend. That's a transformation.

From automating payroll and recruiting to handling customer follow-ups 24/7, AI is helping small business owners do more with less. At IBCC, we believe Black entrepreneurs deserve to be at the front of this wave β€” not playing catch-up.

Are you using AI in your business yet? Drop a comment and let us know what tools you're exploring! πŸ‘‡

Here's a number worth paying attention to: 77% of small businesses are using social media to reach customers β€” and 41% say it's directly driving revenue. πŸ“±πŸ’°

In 2026, your digital presence isn't optional. Customers want fast answers, personalized experiences, and the ability to buy from you without friction. The businesses winning right now are the ones showing up consistently and authentically online.

IBCC is here to help Black-owned businesses in Central Texas build the kind of digital presence that actually converts. πŸ™ŒπŸΎ

Let's be real β€” 2026 is not the easiest year to run a business. 😀 High labor costs, tariffs, rising insurance, and stubborn inflation are real challenges our community is navigating every day.

But here's what else is true: SBA loan approvals are UP 11%, and total loan amounts are UP 20%. Business owners who are adapting β€” through smart pricing strategies and AI investment β€” are finding a path forward.

You are not alone in this. IBCC is building a community where Black entrepreneurs share strategies, access resources, and push through together. πŸ’ͺ🏾

What's the biggest challenge your business is facing right now? Drop it in the comments β€” let's problem-solve together. πŸ‘‡

Texas is BOOMING β€” and Black-owned businesses should be right in the middle of it. 🌟🀠

Texas just won the Governor's Cup for the 14th straight year, leading the entire nation with 1,406 major business projects and over 42,000 new jobs in 2025. The Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos region alone brought in 147 of those projects. That's our backyard!

This kind of economic momentum creates real opportunity for local Black entrepreneurs β€” in contracting, services, staffing, and beyond. IBCC exists to make sure our community doesn't just witness this growth, but participates in it. πŸ’ͺ🏾

Are you positioned to capture a piece of Texas's growth? Let's talk. Drop a comment or visit the link in our bio to connect with IBCC today.
