National Domestic Violence Collaborative

National Domestic Violence Collaborative Raise the national standard of advocacy and radically reduce the number of people impacted by DV. We welcome you to join our community and our mission.

After years of having private conversations with fellow survivors and advocates about our frustrations with the number of people still being impacted by domestic violence, we decided it was time to exercise our inner warrior and do something different, together. We are a national community of survivors & advocates with a BOLD vision to nurture healthier individuals, families, and communities by ad

vocating differently. Our mission is to raise the national standard of advocacy and radically reduce the number of people impacted by domestic violence. We do this through researching, collaborating, developing, and implementing world-class projects and programs. https://www.nationaldvcollaborative.org/

Did she really say that?

Sometimes when we want real change we have to be willing to talk about change in a way that encourages us to see what what our blind spots have been all this time.

Tune in to hear our founder, Audrey discuss DV with Emily at Fox News. Link coming soon.

Happy Sunday Funday!

We are back with another Q & A session, and today we want to know what saying, quote, lyric, or motto you live by or are inspired by!

We asked some of our volunteers and here is what they had to say:
• ‘Always Believe that something Wonderful is about to happen’
• ‘A Change is Gonna Come’
• ‘Opportunities don't happen, you create them’
• ‘It is never too late to be what you might have been’
• ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together’

What is your answer?

“Courage is the power to let go of the familiar”

There can be a lot said about the familiar and the comfort zone. It is just that – comfortable. But that means it can be restricting, suffocating, and stagnant.

Don’t be afraid to venture out. To find freedom and restoration for yourself. There is so much more to life than where you have been. You have the present and the future to make all of the difference. Letting go and relinquishing what has been weighing you down is where you can begin to find beauty in moving forward and celebrating life and finding freedom.

Will it be scary?
Absolutely.
Will it be worth it?
Definitely.

Whatever it is, release the familiar, remove yourself from your comfort zone, and charge forward in a way that sets your soul ablaze.

Mid-week reminder that healing can look different for everyone – even if the story is similar.

Be kind to yourself and know that it’s okay if you’re on a different timeline or at a different pace than where you thought or hoped you would be. You are allowed to move forward and find freedom at your own pace in a healthy, happy, meaningful way 💜

What are some things you have done or can do to show yourself grace along the journey of healing?

Happy Sunday Funday! We’re back with our Q&A update and today we would like to know what motivates you!

Drop your answer in the comments, share this question with a friend, or just think about it throughout your day!

We asked a couple of our volunteers and here were the answers:
• Something that motivates me is my significant other. I like knowing that they push me to do my best and do it in a helpful way.
• My coworkers! We all work towards the same goal and I love that we’re able to keep each-other on task and motivated to do our best for one another.
• My answer would have to be myself. I don’t mean it in a selfish way, I just like to know that there’s always something I can work towards and the only person standing in the way of me is me. That really motivates me to always keep pushing for greater and better things.
What motivates you?
