Caitlyn Mathis Daffodil Run We are an annual event that raises money for a non-profit scholarship fund. Caitlyn’s life tragically ended in February 2012 in a car accident.

The Caitlyn Mathis Daffodil Run was started in 2012 in order to honor Kiefer High School graduate Caitlyn Mathis. Her passion was children and it was her goal in life to earn her teaching degree and come back to teach and coach at the school that she loved so much. Caitlyn spent her whole life giving to others and being an example to everyone how people should be treated. Her infectious spirit, beautiful smile and giving heart made a difference in so many lives. In order to continue Caitlyn’s legacy, a memorial fund was established to award Kiefer graduates, who have demonstrated some of the same amazing qualities and goals that she had, with a scholarship to help further their education.

Registration is now open for the 2026 Daffodil Run, and we hope you’ll join us.

This year is especially meaningful as the Caitlyn’s Way Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, rolls out new impact goals.

While the Daffodil Run remains our signature fundraising event, the Foundation’s mission now extends beyond schllarships. We are working year-round to provide resources, opportunities, and support for children in our community while continuing to honor Caitlyn’s legacy.

- Partner with local schools to provide take-home hygiene bags for students in need.
- Work with Family & Children's Services to identify families needing clothing and other basic necessities.
- Award scholarships to deserving students in our community.
- Support community programs that provide safe recreation and meaningful opportunities for children.

The Caitlyn Mathis Daffodil Run is on Saturday September 26, 2026. It includes the following events: One Mile Fun Run with T-Shirt, 3 Mile Run with T-Shirt, One Mile Fun Run No Shirt, 3 Mile Run No Shirt, and T-Shirt Only.
