The Keystone Project Launching Organic, Missional, Disciple-Making Movements in Every Nation on Earth

Most church planting strategies are designed for the program-based institutional church system and are dependent on that system for their success. Program-based churches emphasize and use structures, programs, events, and meetings to minister to and attract people. Program-based church planting and growth strategies tend to focus on how we meet and how we attract people to meetings. The Keystone Project emerged on the mission field outside of the institutional church system and is not dependent on any particular system, programs, or structures for its success. The Keystone training is not concerned with how we meet; it is concerned with how we live! It intentionally focuses on the development of a Great Commission lifestyle through the cultivation of loving relationships, the skillful use of spiritual gifts, and the daily application of God’s Word through Spirit-led obedience. The Distinctives of the Keystone Vision

—It focuses on launching disciple-making movements rather than primarily planting churches.
—It is universal in application and can be contextualized in any cultural setting.
—It emphasizes reproduction and multiplication at every level.
—It is not dependent on resources, materials, or money for its success.
—It does not require extensive theological or ministerial training for it leaders.
—It lets local church structures follow organically from the process of disciple-making.
—It places disciple-making in a missional rather than academic context.
—It emphasizes a reliance on prayer and the empowering of the Holy Spirit.
—It seeks the transformation of local communities as disciples serve the poor and displaced.
—It unflinchingly embraces the call of the cross to suffer for the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
—It prioritizes disciple-making among the most resistant and unreached people groups.

🎙️ NEW EPISODE: From Navy Catapults to National Comedy: The Journey of J.R. Redwater

In our newest episode of the Keystone Project Podcast, James sits down with J.R. Redwater for a conversation that goes in some unexpected directions.

J.R. talks about serving in the Navy and launching fighter jets during deployments to the Persian Gulf, the moment his experience of war caused him to wrestle with God about his calling, and how he eventually left the military and pursued a career in stand-up comedy.

It's a story about pain, purpose, courage, laughter, faith, and the unexpected ways God can prepare us for moments we never saw coming.

Our next International Leaders Training is just around the corner.

📅 October 26–November 20, 2026
📍 Keystone, South Dakota
🌎 International Leaders Training

For four weeks, leaders from different nations, cultures, and ministry backgrounds will come together to be equipped in the Great Commission and learn how to make disciples who make disciples.

We'll explore what it means to:

➡️ Make disciples who make disciples
➡️ Multiply disciples to the fourth generation
➡️ Launch disciple-making movements
➡️ Walk in the power of the Holy Spirit
➡️ Develop missional and visionary leadership
➡️ Reach the unreached
➡️ Build healthy, multiplying communities

And you don't have to be a pastor or established ministry leader to attend. If you are a Christian who is willing to be challenged by the Great Commission and wants to be equipped to make disciples, there is a place for you.
