Storm Mountain Center A secluded year-round wilderness retreat in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Originally staked as twelve gold mining claims in the 1880s and one of the original mines is still accessible on Spring Creek. Storm Mountain Center has been continuously operated as a camp and retreat since 1957. Our historic and beautiful site is a place where guests and campers find peace and adventure and experience deeper connections with Christ, creation, and community. Sign up for one of our conference camps, arrange a family reunion or company retreat, or just come for a quiet "place apart" and experience God's awe-inspiring creation.

It's official! I'm getting married to my amazing partner, Darian. While we celebrate beginning our lives together, Storm Mountain Center will be CLOSED from October 6th-13th.

We're very excited for this next chapter of our lives. We have had several supporters of Storm Mountain ask if we have a registry - please follow the link below to our Amazon registry if you would like to help us celebrate the big day.

Thank you!

We're excited to announce Rydel Samuelson as the NEW Assistant Director at Storm Mountain Center!

With Rydel's passion for the Dakotas United Methodist Camping Ministry, as well as his extensive experience as a camper, volunteer, and staff at all of our Dakotas camps, we think Rydel will be a valuable asset to the ministry at Storm Mountain! As the Assistant Director, Rydel will fill a key aspect of Storm Mountain by taking on the leadership of our growing summer camp programming, while also filling a supportive role in other essential ministry aspects year-round.

While you won't officially see Rydel at Storm Mountain until January 2027, we are so excited to see him step into this new role! Welcome Rydel!
