Election Notice

The Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission will cause an election of Supervisors of the Hardin Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to be held in accordance with Chapter 940 of the Ohio Revised Code. Individuals who own or occupy land within the Hardin Soil and Water Conservation District and are 18 years of age or older may vote for Supervisor.
There are three ways an eligible voter can cast a ballot:
1.) At the SWCD office, 950 W. Kohler Street, Kenton, Ohio 43326, from 7/22/2026 until 8/19/2026 during normal business hours; or
2.) At the SWCD Annual Meeting, which will take place at Hardin County Fairgrounds Shelter House on 8/20/2026 from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
3.) Voting absentee from 7/22/2026 until 8/19/2026, by requesting the ballot application and election ballot from the SWCD office at the following address 950 W, Kohler Street, Kenton, Ohio 43326, by calling 419-673-0456, or email [email protected] Absentee ballots must be received by the SWCD office by 8/19/2026 and by 4:30 p.m.
Two Supervisors will be elected to a three‐year term commencing January 1, 2027 and ending December 31, 2029.

The Hardin Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold a Special Meeting on Monday, August 3rd, 8:00a.m. at the Hardin SWCD office. Discussion will be about the potential for collaboration with MJCC-Jolliff Consulting on the proposed Ohio Eco Career Quest project as well as State Match funding.

Thank you to everyone who came to our Pond Clinic and spent the evening with us. Kurt Utrup of Remlinger Fish Farm provided a wealth of knowledge answering questions on the specifics of managing a pond, a great resource to the community! Huge thank you to Kenton City Schools for hosting the site for our clinic and Conservation teacher, Chuck Moore for giving us an overview of the incredible things his students are doing in his program learning about conservation!
