Columbia Center Rotary's Community Service Committee recently purchased games, puzzles, art supplies, and other family-friendly activities, including a new Nintendo Switch with games, for the Family Room at the Columbia Valley Center for Recovery.

Congratulations to the 2026 Columbia Center Rotary Club scholars who received $3,000 (new recipient) and $2,000 continuing recipient scholarships!

The first-year recipients are from Kamiakin, Legacy, and Southridge high schools in Kennewick as well as Tri-Tech Skills Center. Our continuing recipients have previously received scholarships from us and are undergraduates at the college level.

At our meeting today, we were pleased to hear from five of our first-year recipients, their future plans, and what the scholarships mean to them.

Congratulations to Josue, Sebastian, Gibson, Shyla, and Hisai, shown here in the photo with Kennewick School District Superintendent (and our own Rotarian!) Lance Hansen and our amazing scholarship coordinator, Amanda Heap.

Congratulations also to first-year recipient Cale Stites and continuing recipients Landon Carlson, Eliza Kelly, and Aaliyah Robertson.

At our May 14 meeting, we heard from Judge Diana Ruff.

The presentation was part of Law Day, which is typically observed in early May. Diana explained our court structure and the outreach our local judges and staff provide to youth and others.

Thank you, Diana, for taking time out of your busy schedule to come talk with us!
