Safe Harbor Support Center is honored to announce that it has received an $8,000 grant from the Wildhorse Foundation to support the organization’s Family Assistance Program. This critical program provides emergency support and stabilization services to children, teens, and families experiencing crisis, helping them remain safe while building long-term resilience.
The Family Assistance Program offers essential resources such as transportation support, basic needs items, and customized family support. This funding from the Wildhorse Foundation will enable Safe Harbor to expand its reach and provide timely, trauma-informed assistance to even more families across the Tri-Cities.
We are incredibly grateful for the Wildhorse Foundation’s generosity and their belief in our mission. This grant strengthens our ability to respond quickly when families face unexpected hardships, ensuring children remain safe, supported, and on a path toward healing.
Each year, the Wildhorse Foundation makes grants to eligible nonprofit, government, and Tribal organizations within the homeland area of the Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla people. Also eligible for funding are Tribal government agencies or Native American charitable organizations based in Oregon, as well as national or regional Indian organizations. Since its establishment in 2001, the Wildhorse Foundation has awarded over $19 million in grant funding. Grants are awarded quarterly, with deadlines on January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1.
