My Friends Place

My Friends Place My Friends Place, a Program of Safe Harbor Support Center My Friends Place is Southeastern Washington's first safe overnight sanctuary for homeless teens.

My Friends Place had its ribbon cutting ceremony on November 30, 2011 and provides immediate basic human survival needs for youth on the streets. Warm meals, showers, laundry, and a safe place to rest, for youth ages 13 through 17. Dedicated staff and volunteer mentors will assist them in accessing long term solutions including family reconciliation services, transitional living arrangements, educ

ational programs, job training, and help with mental health or chemical dependency. On November 30, 2011 My Friends Place opened to provide dinners, showers, homework help, laundry facilities, clothes, school supplies, access to community services and fun to any homeless youth up to age 21. We have now open up as an overnight shelter for youth ages 13 to 17 years old. We have dinner and breakfast for the youth as well as the services listed above when we were just doing the drop in. Most of the youth who have come to My Friends Place have had family problems and some kind of life trauma. Our staff are welcoming and provide support to re-unite families when possible. When reunification is not in the best interest of the youth, efforts are made to connect them to resources to become independent.

πŸŽ‰ The Hope Center is Officially Open! πŸŽ‰
After two years of planning, renovations, and incredible community support, we're thrilled to announce that the Hope Center is officially open!
This new space allows us to once again provide emergency shelter for youth ages 13–17, ensuring younger teens in crisis have a safe, caring place to turn when they need it most.
Our My Friend's Place shelter will continue serving youth ages 16–20, allowing us to better meet the unique needs of both younger and older teens while expanding our capacity to serve vulnerable youth throughout our community.
The opening of the Hope Center represents so much more than a renovated buildingβ€”it embodies hope, healing, safety, and a renewed commitment to ensuring that no young person faces homelessness or crisis alone.
As we welcome our first young teens to the Hope Center, we've created a Hope Center Wishlist filled with items to help our newest clients feel safe, comfortable, and cared for from the moment they arrive. From everyday essentials to comforting touches that make the shelter feel more like home, every donation makes a meaningful difference.

This milestone would not have been possible without the generosity of our donors, volunteers, community partners, and everyone who believed in this vision. Thank you for helping make this dream a reality and for helping us provide hope when it's needed most. ❀️

🧴🧼 Help Local Families in Need! 🧼🧴

At Safe Harbor Support Center, we work every day to support children and families as they heal from trauma, abuse, neglect, and other challenges. One of the most common needs we see is access to basic hygiene and household cleaning supplies.

We're asking our community to help stock our Family Assistance Program with essential items such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, laundry detergent, disinfectants, paper products, and other cleaning supplies. These everyday necessities can make a tremendous difference for families facing financial hardship.

We've made it easy to help! You can purchase items directly from our Walmart registry, and they will be shipped straight to our office for distribution to local families in need.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps create healthier homes and reduces financial stress for the families we serve. Thank you for helping us provide dignity, hope, and practical support to our community.
