🍂 Keep the autumn fun going with our Fall Cupcake Decorating Class with Fat Cat Sweets! 🍁🧁

Join KVIS and Fat Cat Sweets at Made for Good on Saturday, November 14 at 12:30 p.m. for a hands-on class where you’ll transform 6 cupcakes — 3 vanilla and 3 chocolate — into the cutest fall creations.

You’ll decorate:
🌻 A bright sunflower
🎃 Pumpkins — two different ways!
🦉 A wise little owl
🌾 A cute scarecrow
🍂 A beautiful fall wreath

Using buttercream and candy decorations, you’ll learn how to create these festive autumn designs. And the best part? You get to take all six cupcakes home with you! 🧁🍁

This class is perfect for all skill levels, whether you’re picking up a piping bag for the first time or already consider yourself a decorating pro.

👶💛 Welcoming every new Kenmore baby!

Every new baby deserves a warm welcome to the community. Through our Made in Kenmore Onesie Program, KVIS gifts each new Kenmore baby a quality cotton onesie featuring the words “Made in Kenmore.”

Each onesie is festively wrapped and hand-delivered to the family’s door by a KVIS volunteer. It’s a small gift with a whole lot of Kenmore love. 🥰

🍂 Thankful for Kenmore: Let the Season of Giving Begin! 🧡

As the season of gratitude begins, we're reminded that what makes Kenmore special isn't just our beautiful village, it's the people who make it feel like home. From neighbors helping neighbors to local businesses, dedicated volunteers, and community members who show up for one another, there's so much to be thankful for.

This November and December, the Kenmore Village Improvement Society (KVIS) is celebrating the spirit of generosity that brings our community together. Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing a little more about what KVIS does, highlighting the people and programs that make a difference, and inviting you to give back to the village we all love.

🎃👻 Happy Halloween, Kenmore! 👻🎃

It’s Halloween! As our streets fill with little ghosts, goblins, superheroes and princesses, let’s work together to make tonight safe, welcoming and fun for everyone. 🧡

Here are a few Good Neighbor Guide: Halloween Edition reminders:

🎃 Trick-or-treating is 6–8 PM. Please don’t begin before 6 PM, and make sure the doorbell-ringing ends at 8 PM.

👀 Parents: Keep an eye on young children, stay aware of your surroundings and help kids safely navigate the neighborhood.

🩵 Participate in the Teal Pumpkin Project: Consider having non-candy treats available for children with food allergies or sensitivities.

🏠 If you’re handing out treats: Turn on your porch lights, keep walkways well lit and clear, and consider setting up a table in the driveway if your home has lots of stairs.

🚫 Not participating? Turn off your porch light and make it clear that trick-or-treaters should move along.

🚗 Drivers: If possible, plan your trips around trick-or-treating hours. There will be lots of pedestrians — including excited kids — walking throughout the Village tonight. Slow down and stay alert!

👻 And remember: Halloween decorations can be fun without being frightening. Keep especially scary displays away from areas where young children will be trick-or-treating.

🎃 HALLOWEEN PARADE: The Kenmore Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Halloween Parade begins at 5:45 PM at Wardman and Delaware Road and ends at the Kenmore Fire Department, 16 Nash Road, where kids can enjoy donuts, c***r and a treat bag.

Let’s look out for one another and make Halloween a night our whole community can enjoy. 🧡

Consider trying something new:

🎨 Take a class or explore a hobby.
📚 Join a club or community group.
🚶 Find a walking group or activity.
🤝 Volunteer for a cause you care about.

And remember: you can start small. You don't have to walk into a new group and immediately feel at home. Give yourself time to get comfortable, meet people and discover what feels right for you.

Our Autumn Good Neighbor Guide has some easy ways to prepare your home and help your neighbors get ready for winter:

🍁 Rake leaves and keep sidewalks clear — Help keep walkways and curb areas clean and safe.
🌿 Tidy up your yard — Trim dead plants, cut back overgrowth and clear fallen branches.
🏠 Clean your gutters — Remove leaves and debris so water can drain properly before winter arrives.
❄️ Prepare for winter — Put away outdoor furniture, secure loose items and make sure your snow tools are ready.
🗑️ Keep the street clean — Follow local guidelines when putting out leaves, branches and yard waste for collection.
🔥 Be mindful of fire pits — Enjoy those cozy fall evenings while being considerate of neighbors, smoke and wind direction.
