🌼🔍 Last call for Bloom Scouts!

Kenmore in Bloom begins June 20, and we're looking for a few more volunteers to help us celebrate the gardens, storefronts, and green spaces that make our village beautiful.

As a Bloom Scout, you'll spend a few weeks walking Kenmore, discovering hidden gems, and helping decide which properties receive Bloom Awards this year. It's a wonderful excuse to get outside, enjoy the summer weather, and make a positive impact in the community.

⚠️ Remember: All Bloom Scouts must attend the mandatory training session.

Through Save the Bees WNY, you can do exactly that.

Our Name Your Tree initiative invites community members to name one of Kenmore's avenue trees, helping support the care, planting, and appreciation of the trees that make our village greener, healthier, and more beautiful.

Why name a tree? Because when we name something, a relationship begins. 🌿

Trees do so much for our community:
🐝 Support pollinators and wildlife
🌎 Improve air quality
☀️ Provide shade and reduce urban heat
💧 Help manage stormwater
🌳 Beautify our streets and neighborhoods

Through community programs like Weigh-In Wednesday, Help for Loneliness, workshops, and wellness-focused conversations, Be Well Kenmore supports health in its fullest sense: physical, emotional, and social wellbeing.

This month's featured reader is Dennis Maloney, an acclaimed poet and translator whose work has been published in more than a dozen languages. A number of volumes of his poetry have been published, including full-length collections in German, Japanese, and Bulgarian.

After the featured reading, the microphone will be open to anyone who would like to share original poetry, prose, spoken word, or other creative work. ✨

No experience is necessary—just a love of words, ideas, and community.

Highlights include:
🎡 Carnival rides and games
🐾 Petting zoo featuring Nickel City Reptiles and Exotics
🦎 Animal shows with Jeff the Animal Guy
🚓 Trucks & More featuring police, fire, and DPW vehicles
🎵 Live music both days

🍻 Beer tent benefiting local community organizations

💚 For 18 years, KVIS volunteers have been showing up for Kenmore.

Since 2008, members of the Kenmore Village Improvement Society have contributed hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours to strengthen our community through events, scholarships, beautification projects, environmental initiatives, wellness programs, and countless acts of service.

From Kenmore in Bloom and the Children's Concert Series to Save the Bees WNY, Help for Loneliness, scholarships for Kenmore-Tonawanda students, and the community events that bring us together, this work is only possible because people care enough to support it.

Every donation—large or small—helps us continue this work and invest in the future of Kenmore. 🌱

🌸 Spend part of your summer helping Kenmore bloom. 🌸

Bloom Scouts are the people who quietly help make Kenmore in Bloom possible each year — walking the Village, noticing beautiful gardens and welcoming storefronts, and helping decide which properties receive Bloom signs. 🌿🏡

It’s a meaningful volunteer role, but it’s also genuinely enjoyable:
☀️ Time spent outside in beautiful weather
🚶 Walks through the Village with intention
🌼 A chance to appreciate the care neighbors put into their spaces
💚 A simple way to give back to the community
