Words Matter: Disability is not a bad word. Avoid euphemisms like “differently-abled."

Using vague or softened language can minimize real experiences and barriers. Be clear, respectful, and accurate–say “disability.”

Join Muddy Wheels Accessible Outdoors and Western New York Trout Unlimited for a FREE Accessible Fishing Event on Saturday, June 6th at 10:00 AM at Hoyt Lake in Delaware Park! We had a wonderful time tabling at DD Day! Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat with us, learn more about our programs, and share your stories. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many members of our community and spread the message of self advocacy. We appreciate everyone who helped make the day so special!
