🇺🇸 Happy Friday Everyone 🇺🇸

💙. We are getting ready for our event tomorrow, still lots of stuff to do and of course we will be posting our walk-through video later this afternoon to show everybody what’s going on as far as what things we have for sale and also all of the wonderful birds and critters that aren’t available for adoption.
Hope to see everybody here and don’t forget we’ll have free hotdog, snack, snacks, and water for everyone that attends….. 🌭

We had a little surprise visitor this morning. 🌅

The egg that came in with the last little hatchling, which we do believe our blue crown Conyers, but not 100% sure yet as they were found in somebody’s attic when they were getting ready to fumigate the house.
The one baby was already about five days old and I didn’t really think the egg was fertile, but when I picked it up to look at it, I heard chirping inside much to my surprise.
So two days later here we are with another little baby hatchling Conure.

Welcome to the world little “Ridley”, I’m sure your sibling “Jaden” will be happy to have you to cuddle up with instead of just the egg, lol 😂

‼️And before the haters start in, NO, we are not breeding birds here, that goes against everything I believe in ‼️

💛 “Sharpie” & “Pilot” 🤍

These two absolutely stunning Cockatiels arrived at the rescue back in March.
Some of you may remember the story of the rescue that basically showed up at my door when I was expecting a Macaw that was in dire need which ended up being our beautiful Duchess, who is very badly crippled.
Well, along with her came six Cockatiels, eight Lovebirds and a Patagonia Conure.

The birds were living in a pretty tough situation in very small wire cages inside of a barn. Not an ideal living situation for any bird obviously & several of them had some pretty bad eye and nare issues. A very sad situation for all of them, so we were very happy that they all came here so we could help them. 🙏
We were notified a few weeks ago that the owner had passed away, so apparently he was not well himself.
All of the Cockatiels except for these two have since been adopted and went onto beautiful homes and Aviaries.
Sharpie had a very badly infected eye that we treated for a while and then decided it needed to be removed. Pilot had an infected eye as well, not quite as severe and his eye was able to be saved. He also had a gigantic infection in his nare, which has now since been cleared up as well.
Both of these are beautiful whistlers so we are assuming they are both boys.
Pilot and Sharpie were inseparable from the beginning and when Sharpie was getting treated Pilot would sit in the cage and basically pace and scream for him. Of course we always keep bonded birds together, so we will keep them together until they find their forever home. They’re both doing really well and have overcome quite a bit in their lives. We are hoping to make the rest of their lives for them nothing but pure joy and pleasure.
They are actually not too bad to handle either so I think with a little patience and time in a home environment, they will absolutely thrive and become wonderful companions for someone.
Please consider bringing these very beautiful and uniquely colored Cockatiels into your life, Im sure they will bring you as much joy as they bring us here….

📣 NEW RAFFLE 📣

We are starting a new raffle today!!!!
It is for this beautiful play stand on wheels and nice parrot swing.
As always, the donations received for the raffle will go towards our medical fund or anything else that we might need for the birds here.

If you would like to purchase a ticket, they are $5.00 each & of course you could enter as many times as you would like. It is going towards a good cause and hopefully you will win yourself a beautiful brand new perch stand, and swing.

🛑 Of course you can buy tickets at our adoption/grooming/ sales event on Saturday in person as well. The raffle will be open for two weeks. 🛑

I’m a huge fan of these rolling stands as I think it’s so good for the birds to be able to be in different areas of the house and away from their cages as much as possible. So good for socialization and being part of the family.

If you’d like to purchase a ticket on our website, there is a raffle button on our donate page just go to www.palmbeachparrotrescue.com and click on “Raffle Tickets” button.
You can also send a donation through Zelle, Venmo, Cash app or PayPal using any of these QR codes below ⬇️

‼️MUST be picked up at the rescue, we cannot deliver or ship ‼️

🙏 Thank you as always, for being such huge supporters and followers of our rescue and all the good work that we try to do on a daily basis to help the animals in our community and beyond.

‼️Update: Thank you for everyone who has sent a comment or message to help this little bird get to the rescue. I believe we do have it figured out and Melissa will be contacting our (volunteer) Barbara to coordinate transport for tomorrow. So far the Bird seems to be doing great.

🚙 Transport Request 🚙

We are seeking transport for this cockatiel that was found on a golf course down in Delray by someone that is on vacation. Luckily he contacted us & kept the Bird in the hotel until Melissa our volunteer was able to go and get her.
We are now trying to get the Bird from Melissa and Delray brought to the rescue in Jupiter. If you’re able to assist with this transport tomorrow at 12:30 when she’s available, please let me know.
The bird was following the man around the golf course so clearly was looking for some help. 🙏
Please send a message if you’re able to help with this transport and get this Bird here so we can check her out. She definitely has something going on with her beak.
Thank you …. 😊

🪄 Magic’s back from his road trip!! 🚙

It appears he had a great time because he came back in a wonderful mood, his feathers look amazing and he is happily playing and eating already. Ozzie was so cute, he got so excited when I put Magic back in the cage next to him yesterday afternoon. ☀️

I think he loves traveling 🚘 and it definitely has not changed his disposition of personality whatsoever. He is such an amazing Bird and we hope to find him the most special forever home next time around.
Unfortunately, sometimes things happen in life that we don’t expect and when the lady who adopted him contacted me, she said she was afraid to or embarrassed too. Tell me what she had to tell me and I said don’t ever feel that way because this is why we’re here.
One of the reasons why some people choose to go through a rescue is because of this reason God forbid something doesn’t work out or something happens down the road that we of course, can’t predict they can bring the bird back to the rescue and not have to worry about finding a home on their own.
And of course, our Adopted Birds & critters must come back to us as stated in the adoption contract. 📝

So welcome back to Mr. Magic and we hope you’re happy while you’re here waiting for your special person to come along…….
