June Lake Arts provides cultural enrichmentment to the Mono County community by supporting emerging local talent and enlivening the artistic spirit in the Eastern Sierra. Specifically, June Lake Arts is a significant support of Sierra STEM’s popular STEAM Camp by introducing students to master artists who enhance the artistic side of the science-based curriculum. With their generous support, Sierra STEM is able to offer high-quality, low-cost summer camps, such as our STEAM camp, where campers can experience the natural world through artistic eyes.🎨

Parker Lake looks a little cleaner! 💚 Thank you to everyone who came out and helped us care for Parker Lake Trail by participating in a mile of trail brushing, water bar maintenance, and trash pickup at the lake. A little teamwork goes a long way! 🌍

A little heap of photos from Sierra STEM’s Trash Camp! ♻️ Campers learned all about decay through a decomposition timeline and discovered the important role worms and other decomposers play in nature. They also explored their carbon footprints and learned simple ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle. We even had some special guests from Mammoth Disposal stop by and needless to say, the trash truck was a huge hit! 🚛 Thank you, Mammoth Disposal, for joining us and making Trash Camp one to remember! 💚

Summer Camp spotlight: Sierra Rock Rangers 🪨 🧗
This summer, Sierra STEM partnered with Sierra Climbing School for a fun-filled week of climbing, science, and exploring the Sierra!
Students learned the basics of sport climbing, including tying in, belaying, climbing technique, route reading, and how to climb safely and responsibly outdoors.
They also explored the geology of the Sierra Nevada through hands-on activities about the rock cycle, different types of rocks, and the region’s incredible volcanic history, including the eruption that formed the Long Valley Caldera!
A huge thank you to Sierra Climbing School for helping make this experience possible and for teaching our students about climbing, safety, and responsible outdoor stewardship.🏔️
We’re also grateful to the DeChambeau Creek Foundation for supporting Sierra Rock Rangers Summer Camp and helping keep registration affordable for local families. 💚
We love bringing together science, adventure, and a deeper appreciation for the places we call home!

What a night! Sierra STEM just wrapped up its first-ever fundraising event, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible community support!
Our Bingo Night was filled with big wins, lots of laughs, raffle games, and auctions for the adults, while the kids enjoyed a Science Night full of fun and learning. 🔬✨
A huge thank you to our amazing local businesses who donated gift certificates, goodies, and swag to help make the evening such a success. Your generosity made this a wonderful night for everyone—and helped us raise money to support Sierra STEM’s programs!

Sierra STEM is grateful to the Town of Mammoth Lakes Measure U for their Juniper Sponsorship of our Summer Camps!

Measure U is a special use tax designated by the Town of Mammoth Lakes to fund recreation and cultural events for Mammoth Lakes residents and visitors. Measure U funds are supporting our Mammoth-based camps in 2026 and 2027, ensuring both residents and visitors can participate in Sierra STEM programs where they develop into scientists, problem-solvers, and stewards of the beautiful Eastern Sierra.

Join Sierra STEM for our 2nd annual trail cleanup on Sunday, August 30 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
It’s our turn to care for a place that gives so much to our community. Bring the whole crew for a fun morning of trail work! Family, friends, neighbors—all are welcome. Tools, gloves, and snacks provided!

Sending off the summer season in style! ☀️🎉 On Friday, we wrapped up an amazing camp season with BBQ, friends, lots of laughs, and sweet memories we’ll be carrying into the next year. And yes… we got to pie Neal in the face—not once, but TWICE! 🥧
