National 4-H Week Window Display — DONE AND IN THE BOOKS FOR 2026!
Another project checked off the list, and we couldn’t be more proud of how it turned out! A HUGE thank you to the Herbst/Straws and Zilliox families for coming up with the idea, putting in the work, and turning that idea into something that really represents what 4-H is all about. You took it on with enthusiasm and made it happen.
This is one of the things that makes our club so special. We are incredibly thankful for the volunteers and members who are willing to take on special projects, roll up their sleeves, get creative, and see them through to the end. These projects don’t just happen — they happen because people are willing to give their time, talent, and a whole lot of 4-H spirit. So please stop and take a look at their work.
Our National 4-H Week display is in the window of the Monroe Antique Mall, on the northwest side of the square in Monroe, right across from the library. And another very special THANK YOU goes to Madison Riddell, the new owner of the Monroe Antique Mall, for stepping forward and offering us the window space. We truly appreciate you giving our club the opportunity to share 4-H with everyone who walks by! 💚
Projects like this are a great reminder that 4-H isn't just about meetings and projects, it's about people willing to step up, work together, share their talents, and make a difference in their community.
To everyone who had a hand in making this happen — THANK YOU! We appreciate you more than you know.

🚂 WHAT A WAY TO FINISH THE FUNDRAISING SEASON! 🚂
A HUGE thank you to the Trumpy, Kruse, Baum, Zilliox, Powers, Fey, and Moore families for taking on the task of breaking down and putting away 100 tables and 100 chairs at the Train Show at the Slice Area in Monroe today!
We started at 5:15 PM and were completely finished at 5:45 PM — that’s right… 30 MINUTES! A new record for our club!
It was hard work, but you all absolutely CRUSHED IT! And some of our littlest members showed us just how much muscle they have when it came time to tackle those 8-foot tables!
This was the last big fundraiser event of the season for our club, and I want to give a HUGE thank you to every member and family who signed up, showed up, and gave it their all today. You are all amazing!
This club would not be the family it is without each and every one of you. ❤️
For the past 7 months, you all have given your time, your energy, and your muscles to community service and fundraising. You have worked hard, helped others, supported the club, and once again proved what happens when our 4-H family works together.
Now it’s time to REST and RELAX! You have definitely earned it! ❤️
Thank you, Next Generation 4-H, for another incredible season of service, teamwork, and making a difference in our community.
I am so proud of all of you!

A COUPLE OF FUN CLUB OPPORTUNITIES COMING UP! 🍀

I’m excited to share that we have TWO upcoming events that are going to be a lot of fun — and I want to give a BIG thank-you to the families who are stepping up to make them happen! ❤️

🐮 TRUNK & TREAT — Sunday, October 25 🎃
📍 On the Square
⏰ 2:00–4:00 PM
🎨 Theme: BARNYARD ANIMALS! 🐷🐄🐔🐑

Katie Thurow and her daughter Brenna are taking the lead on our Trunk & Treat this year! Thank you, Katie and Brenna, for volunteering to organize and handle this event for our club! We know you’re going to come up with something fun! 🥰

If you would like to help with the Trunk & Treat, please comment below and Katie will get in touch with you. And start thinking barnyard animals… I’m sure we can have some pretty creative trunks!

🍀 NATIONAL 4-H WEEK — October 4–10, 2026 🍀

Another BIG thank-you goes to Tina Straws and her family, who are taking care of our National 4-H Week window display again this year! 💚
They have built a wonderful relationship with the store owner, and we are so thankful that they are willing to work with us again this year to help showcase 4-H in our community! What a great way to let people see all the amazing things our 4-H members do.

We already have one new family interested in donating projects to help create another wonderful window display. Tina, I will PM you their information. If you have a project you'd like to display in the window during National 4-H Week, please comment below and contact Tina. We would love to fill that window with all the great things our members have worked so hard on!

And once again, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to Katie, Brenna, Tina and their families for stepping up and taking these events on! ❤️

A HUGE thank-you to Ryan Andrews, Anne Bauman, Wendy Hawkinson, Katie and Brenna Thurow for coming out Sunday to help serve food to the parade crowd at the fairgrounds! ❤️

I have to admit, when we first started, things were moving VERY slowly. I was beginning to think we might be looking at a food stand that was going to put us in the negative! 😂

But then around 10:00 AM, the building started filling up, and by 11:00 we had a long line of hungry parade-goers and every one of us was scrambling to get food out the window as quickly as possible so people could get fed and get back to their floats. It went from “Well, this is quiet” to “Hang on…we’ve got people!” pretty darn fast! 😄

We even stayed open a little longer for a few people who asked if we could serve them when they returned to the grounds after the parade — which, of course, we were happy to do.

Once again, what a wonderful group of people to work with! ❤️ It truly takes good people willing to jump in and help to make these fundraisers work, and I am so thankful for every one of you.

And just like that…we are done for the year. Our next food stand is not until March 2027!

We do have one more fundraiser for the club — the Monroe Train Show at the Slice Area on Sunday, September 27 at 5:15 PM.
There is a Signup Genius for this event, so if you have not yet completed your four required club events, please get your name on the list and come help out! Remember: many hands make light work and the more hands we have, the less time everyone has to spend there! 😊

Thank you again to everyone who continues to show up, pitch in and make these events successful. I sure do appreciate you all! ❤️

CLUB ALERT TO MESSAGE RECEIVED...

Hi Debbie - I’m with the WI Farmers Union. I’d love to offer a spot on our hay wagon for any kids/families who want to ride with us on Sunday (in general, but especially if rain cancels Friday’s parade). My kids are just old enough to join 4H so we hope to get involved next year! I’ve heard such great things.

If the Children’s Parade is canceled and someone would still like to participate in the main parade, please let me know Friday night or early Saturday morning. I will pass the message along to the Wisconsin Farmers Union on your behalf.

What a wonderful honor that the Wisconsin Farmers Union has offered our club this opportunity! We are truly grateful that they thought of Next Generation 4-H Club and have given our members a chance to be part of this special event. ❤️💙

Children’s Parade is this Friday night!

I’m wondering if there is anyone from our club who is planning to walk in the Children’s Parade representing Green County 4-H under the Green County 4-H banner.

If you are planning to walk, I have some candy that can be handed out along the parade route. 🍬 I just need to know how many from our club will be participating so I can let Ellen know our numbers along with the other 4-H groups.

If no one from our club is planning to walk, that’s okay too! I’ll bring the candy to the fairgrounds on Sunday and we’ll find a good use for it there.

Unfortunately, I’m not able to walk the parade route anymore with my bad knee. Believe me, I wish I could! I’ll be there in spirit, though, cheering you on from the sidelines. ❤️

Please let me know if you’re planning to walk! And if you do, please take lots of pictures of our 4-H group so I can share them afterward. 📸💚

🐝 Beating the Bees to the Garbage! 🐝

Next Generation 4-H was back at the fairgrounds bright and early this morning at 8:30 a.m., trying our best to beat the bees to the garbage! 😂 And once again, our members and families showed up and got the job done!

A HUGE thank you to the Andrews family, plus one ( AKA River Hillary), Baum, Marti, Young, Thurow, Zimmerman, and Johnson families for all the hard work this morning. You sorted, collected, distributed the barrels, picked up trash and cans, and covered the entire fairgrounds making sure everything was gathered and deposited where it belonged.

We didn't get pictures last night because, quite honestly, we were too busy working! But this morning we were able to capture some pictures of just how much trash and how many cans were collected, along with some of our morning crew hard at work.

And we can't forget our crew from last night! 24 members worked Saturday night, and 18 more came out this morning — that's a total of 42 Next Generation 4-H members, families and supporters who gave their time to get this job done! 💚

What a great group! We are so proud of every one of you. This isn't always the most glamorous job, and sorting through garbage certainly isn't anyone's idea of a fun night or morning, but you show up, work together, and take pride in doing something that benefits our community.

This is what Next Generation 4-H is all about — giving back, working together, and making a difference. ❤️ You should be proud of yourselves, proud of your club, and proud of the work you continue to do for the community we live in.

THANK YOU to everyone who worked last night and everyone who came out this morning. You all did an AMAZING job!

🚜 Another Fall Nationals cleanup is underway! 🚜

Tonight, our Next Generation 4-H Club was back at the fairgrounds after the Fall Nationals tractor pull, taking on the not-so-glamorous job of cleaning up after a day of entertainment. We sorted through the trash barrels and pulled out all the cans for recycling. It may not be the most fun job, but after doing this for so many years, we’ve gotten pretty good at it! 😊

A BIG THANK YOU to the Andrews, Powers, Johnson, Fiez, Hanson, Burger, Lynaugh, and Phillips families for coming out and helping tonight. We also truly appreciate the extra hands from Lauryn, Laila, Ayden, and River. ❤️

It makes such a difference when so many people show up and pitch in. Many hands truly do make light work, and having everyone working together helps the job go so much faster. More importantly, it reminds us what 4-H is all about — families, teamwork, giving back, and helping our community.

We’ll be back at it tomorrow morning to finish up the job of getting the fairgrounds cleaned after tonight’s entertainment.

To everyone who gave their time tonight — thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We appreciate every one of you more than you know. 💚💛
