Yesterday we had a DOUBLE Home Blessing Ceremony in our Hannah Springs Community! Our homeowners, Carla & Richard have completed all of the necessary requirements to receive the keys to their next chapter.

It was a great day of celebration and unity. We were blessed to be joined by some special guests. The family of the Late Congressman David Scott were in attendance as we gifted them with a commemorative hard hat in his honor. Congressman Scott along with Senators Ossoff and Warnock are responsible for the CDS funds that were utilized on these new construction builds.

We were also joined by a representative from Publix Supermarkets. The Publix Supermarkets Charities also provided funding for these homes and they also were our 2026 Volunteer Group of the Year.

We would like to thank all of the volunteers, donors, and supporters that enable us to continue building communities, homes, and hope. Congrats again Carla and Richard! We cannot wait to see what life has in store for you next.

Day 3 of Women Build in Clayton County and the energy did NOT disappoint

These ladies tackled both the interior and exterior, bringing skill, strength, and serious heart to every corner of these homes.

We also want to take a moment to give some special love to our Women Build Ambassador, Falatta James. While she may be new to the Southern Crescent family, she is absolutely no stranger to Habitat for Humanity. Falatta and her husband Steve are long-time volunteers with deep roots right here in Clayton County — and having them both on site with us was nothing short of a blessing. We are so grateful for your hearts, your hands, and your continued dedication to this mission. We cannot wait to build again together.

And to Clayton County, thank you. Thank you for showing up in great numbers, like you always do. This community never misses, and we don't take that for granted.

There's something sacred about handing someone the keys to their first home.

Tomorrow, we close on home 229 AND home 230 — two families, two fresh starts, two new chapters beginning right here in our community.

And what better month for it? June is National Homeownership Month, and we can't think of a better way to honor it than this.

Clayton County Day 2 of Women Build was awesome!

We were honored to have Mayor Donya Sartor of City of Jonesboro Government back on site but this time as our Women Build Ambassador. And she brought her crew!

Jonesboro Mayor Pro Tem and Councilwomen worked right alongside her. Clayton County's very own Tax Commissioner Danielle Smith who is also on our Host Committee for Constructed Couture represented with her team as well. Add in our incredible friends from iThink Financial, and you've got a build day full of purpose, community, and heart. This is what it looks like when women lead.
