Building Homes, Communities, & Hope in Clayton, Henry, and Fayette Counties since 1986! Since 1986, we have built, renovated, and repaired more than 450 homes.

Southern Crescent Habitat has transformed the lives of over 450 families through our homeownership and home repair programs. Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity builds affordable homes and completes home repairs for income-qualified families, who need a hand up, not a handout. Through education and financial literacy, families are prepared to be successful homeowners. By partnerships with volunteers and donors in Henry, Clayton and Fayette Counties, our mission of building homes, communities and hope is possible. Just two weeks after celebrating our 40th anniversary, we are thrilled to announce that we are about to officially close on our 235th home!

This exciting milestone marks home number 3 out of 13 in our ambitious Baker’s Dozen journey! Every key handed over brings us one step closer to ensuring more local families have a safe, affordable, and permanent place to call home. The work we do is truly transforming lives, generations, and whole communities.

Thank you to our incredible donors, sponsors, volunteers, and partner families for helping us keep the momentum going!

What an incredible day for the entire Southern Crescent Habitat team!

We gathered at Cooper Lighting Solutions for a staff retreat filled with learning, bonding, and looking ahead. We celebrated our shared accomplishments, mapped out exciting plans for our future, and deepened our connections with one another.

A major highlight of the day was taking a guided tour of Cooper Lighting. We got a firsthand look at their innovative products, the wide range of services they provide, and the fascinating science behind the lighting industry.

A massive thank you to Cooper Lighting Solutions for opening your doors and hosting us for such a memorable day.

As we celebrate our 40th year as a Habitat affiliate, moments like these leave us more motivated than ever to build homes, communities, and hope across our region!

Behind every runway moment at Constructed Couture were people giving their time and talent to make it possible.

A heartfelt thank you to our auctioneers, Jack & Kaysie Lazarro, for bringing the energy and inspiring generosity in support of affordable homeownership!

To our makeup and hair team, thank you for helping bring each designer’s vision to life. To our models, thank you for stepping onto the runway with confidence and giving every creation its moment to shine.

And to all of our volunteers, your hard work and care helped make this evening possible. We are deeply grateful for every task you took on and every hour you gave.

Thank you for being part of the Southern Crescent Habitat family and helping us build hope beyond the runway.

Mission Minute Monday

Deuteronomy 8:18
”But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day."

As we reflect on all that has been accomplished, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for God's faithfulness. He has given us ideas we never would have imagined, opened doors we could not have opened ourselves, and brought relationships and resources into our path at just the right time.

Yes, we have worked hard, but I believe so much of what we celebrate today is the result of God's hand at work in ways we could never have planned or orchestrated on our own. He has made a way when we couldn't see one, provided what we didn't know we needed, and blessed our efforts beyond what we could have accomplished alone.

Deuteronomy 8:18 is a beautiful reminder that even our ability to do the work comes from Him. What a privilege it is to be part of what God is doing through this ministry! As we celebrate how far we've come, may our hearts remain full of thanksgiving and expectation for all He has yet to do.

For those who attended the Habitat International Conference, the incomparable John P. Kee was there for the Habitation Service and this song embodies perfectly how I feel about God’s provision. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsJCwi0h5pk

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being the source of every good thing. Thank You for the wisdom, creativity, relationships, opportunities, and provision that only You could have arranged. We recognize Your hand in all that we have accomplished, and we give You the glory. Continue to guide our steps and use this ministry for Your purposes. Amen.

Best regards and blessings,

The runway was unforgettable. The people who made it happen? Exceptional.

Our hearts are full as we thank the incredible partners who brought Constructed Couture to life in support of our 40th Anniversary.

Mission Minute Monday | Forty Years of Telling the Story

Psalm 145:4
"One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts."

After anniversary week, the gala, conference, and celebration, we pause to remember that milestones are not only dates on a calendar. They are testimonies carried from one generation to the next. Forty years of Southern Crescent Habitat means families, volunteers, donors, board members, staff, churches, cities, counties, and partners have all become part of the story. Our theme, Where Hope Has An Address, is more than a phrase. It is a reminder that hope becomes visible in places people can point to, walk into, and call home.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for forty years of faithfulness. Help us honor the past and build the future with courage. Amen.

Best regards and blessings,
Cynthia Jenkins
