FYI - they will be cutting the ramps today:

I wanted to give you a heads up that the contractor will be in the Clearview subdivision tomorrow to saw cut all the ramps that are expected to be removed and replaced. On Monday, they plan to start the removals and pour backs. This should take approx. 2 weeks. Ill let you know if there is anything that changes.

From the Town:
I wanted to give you a heads up that the contractor that did the handicap ramps will be back in the subdivision on Friday and over the next 2 weeks. They plan to start sawcutting and prepping for removal on Friday and will be there full force next week starting the removals and pour backs. They should be placing “No Parking” Signs if not tomorrow, then Friday in front of all the ramps will need to be removed and replaced

They will be starting at Silverbell and Carlson Blvd and plan to work away from the school as to not cause additional obstacles in the area. They are expected to be completed (including all clean up) by Aug 21.

Sorry to report..... no relief for the bumps on Silverbell and Hawthorne this year as was budged and planned.
I had a short talk with Brandon Torrez, Senior Project Manager with the Town, about the planned milling and repaving of Silverbell and Hawthorne this summer.
He said that while doing that operation at Pioneer Ridge they discovered that the pavement was done right on top of clay soil, and that caused buckling and cracking.
So, they are going to wait till next year for Clearview to do a more thorough job, digging down deeper, and putting down a whole new road base before repaving. That should be a longer term solution to the problems that we have with potholes and bumps.
So, we'll have to wait till next year for relief.

From the Town of Johnstown:

I wanted to let you know that our concrete contractor will over in the Clearview subdivision and plans to start demo tomorrow. They are already their saw-cutting the areas to be removed and replaced. All of the concrete work will be complete on Silverbell Dr, Hawthorne Ave, and everything East of Hawthorne Ave. It may get a little messy, but I will inform the contractor to be mindful and clean up at the end of each day.

There is also another contractor that is planning to start a crack seal treatment on Sycamore Ave. on Monday. This work should only take a few hours and plan to be back in the neighborhood in a couple weeks to slurry seal a larger area. Ill be sure to notify you once I have exact dates.

Paving in Clearview filings 1&2
At the April 6 Town Council meeting, a contract was awarded to Asphalt Specialties Company, Inc. for the
2026 Asphalt Mill, Overlay, Full Depth, Patching Project

This will mill and repave all of Silverbell and Hawthorne in Clearview.

The work will start sometime after June 1 and be complete in August.

At the meeting, I (Jim Hatfield) asked for
- no contstruction on trash days (he agreed to coordinate with Waste Management)
- no multi-day closures

The Johnstown project manager offered this on his own:
- each road will have an electronic sign showing which street is next
- he will contact me with a more solid start date when they know it.
