Salsa contest takes place at 11:30 in support of the Scholarship Fund for the Blanco County 4-H and FFA Youth Council.

The Blanco County Wild Game Dinner would like to send out a heartfelt thank all the amazing Buyers who came to the Blanco Youth Show Sale on Saturday, January 11th. Without incredible buyers like you the sale would not be possible.

The Game Dinner helped in purchasing 28 projects during the sale.

The Game Dinner had their sale follow up meeting last night to look at the division sale averages. The Game Dinner was originally established to bring each exhibitors division/species sale lot total up to the average. Though this process the Game Dinner has been able to put over $1.3 million dollars into the hands of Blanco County Youth Livestock Show Exhibitors over the past 25 years.

This year the Game Dinner is honored to provide over 75K in add-ons to bring an exhibitor's final sale total up to meet the average of their species sold.

This is all possible because of each of you who support the Game Dinner on the 1st Saturday of October and look forward to being able to do this for many, many years to come.

WHO MAKES THE BEST SALSA IN BLANCO COUNTY?

Saturday January 11, 2025 is the date for the 16th Annual Blanco County Youth Show Salsa Contest. Winner will have year-long bragging rights as the best Salsa maker in Blanco County and will receive an engraved BOSS Mug by Creative Awards in Fredericksburg.

The winner of the 15th Annual BCYS Salsa contest was JoAnn Trevino.

Rules for the contest are that you must live in Blanco County, or have a child who qualifies to show in the Blanco County Youth Show, to enter. Your $10 entry fee is due by 11am on January 11th, and you must deliver 2-quart jars of your salsa to the Blanco County Show Barn by Saturday January 11th between 10:00 and 11:00 am. One jar will be for the judges and the winning jar will be sold as the final auction unit of the Blanco County Youth Show Sale that afternoon. All proceeds will go to the Blanco County Youth Council Scholarship fund, which awards six $1,000 scholarships each year to 4-H and FFA students in Blanco County. Add-on contributions are encouraged!
