I think Baby Burnie has another botfly larvae. It appeared overnight. We have watched videos for removal and are bracing ourselves to try it this weekend. Our vet is closed or else I’d ask Dr Allen to do it.

This was certainly not on my bingo card for today!

Faye Elam let us know there was a kitten in the parking lot of Burnett’s convenience store. I drove up and sure enough, there was a small kitten just laying there.

Luckily, the vet is a half mile up the road and they worked him in.

Here is what we found:

🐾 a botfly larvae on the side of his face
🐾 tons of ticks and fleas
🐾 a faint positive result for heartworms! (The vet was perplexed on this one)
🐾 some bruises and wounds
🐾 very underweight. He’s 2 months and should weigh 2 pounds but he’s only 1.3 pounds

We will spend this weekend spoiling “Burnett” rotten, with lots of wet kitten food. We learned he is a fiend for Churu! Don’t you think he’s precious?! 🐈

Lily wants everyone to see her adorable bunny butt!!! 🐰

If you’re a new Bent Whisker Ranch follower, you may not know Lily came to us several years ago with a traumatic tail injury. Her tail was degloved and fractured. She was a lovebug before and after her amputation. 💖

She is looking for a new forever home and just knows you’ll be charmed by her nubbin! 🌟

We are taking a break from TNR and community cats this week and helping people fix their pet cats. We had the honor of hosting this precious young man last night and he has been dropped off at the clinic this morning. Goodbye, orange trouble poofs! 😆😆😆
