And now... meet our second July 4th Grand Marshal:
MARY ANDERSON - Cambridge Elementary School Principal for 25 years!

Mary is a seventh generation Vermonter hailing from Addison County where her ancestors helped to settle the towns of Waltham, Weybridge, and New Haven. She descends from a long line of educators and farmers. Her education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Johnson State College and a Master's Degree in Education from Trinity College of Vermont. Her career in education began 33 years ago at the Jay/Westfield Elementary School where she taught Kindergarten, Reading Recovery, and sixth grade. She is extremely proud to have served as Principal of the Cambridge Elementary School for these past 25 years. She was named 2024-2025 Vermont Elementary Principal of the Year.

“I cannot think of a more rewarding career - one where you are given the opportunity to work alongside a passionate and devoted community who each and every day work tirelessly to prepare our students for the future and change people's lives for the better. Day and night, 365 days a year, members of the CES community, along with our constituents, remain close to my heart.”

CAR announces the first of two Grand Marshals for this year's "We The People" July 4th Celebration in Jeffersonville - BILL STRITZLER of Smugglers' Notch Resort!

Prior to purchasing Smugglers’ Notch Resort in 1996 (30 years ago). Bill graduated from Middlebury College and was a Vice President at AT&T and Wells Fargo. His stewardship of Smuggs led it to new heights! The #1 Family and Guest Service Awards piled up. The Resort was recognized for its environmental efforts. Day Care for employees’ children was a bold initiative. The longevity and loyalty of employees and guests is a testament to the welcoming culture he created. Bill received the Vermont Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award for 2016. But perhaps most appreciated, but not as widely known, the Resort and Bill himself have supported community efforts at United Way, Rotary, the Town of Cambridge, and many more. Now, he hands off the ownership to Bear Den Partners, who will continue to build on that legacy. THANK YOU BILL!
