Finally got to use some of the Marston mat for the first time. These interlocking steel planks were used in WWII to quickly build runways wherever they were needed.

Congratulations to the graduates of the Aviation Sheetmetal Instruction session at the Historic Wings shop in Locust Grove, Ga.

Thanks to Chapter members Cris Hunter and Mark Fuller for coming down this week to participate. The work you did will help several historic aircraft to return to the air. We hope you learned new skills that will help you as well as our Chapter in working on aviation projects.

Today’s training activities include work on a B-17 dorsal fin, Luscombe wing and a P-40 vertical stabilizer.

At last nights chapter meeting the members voted on turning the two donated cylinders into lamps as a chapter fundraising project.

Mark Fuller has volunteered to come up with a parts list. Once we have the needed parts we will schedule a build night for members to work on making the lamps. When complete we will offer them for sale to raise money for the chapter.

Looks like the design may have changed on the Dunlap Airpark hangar as it appears no hangar doors are being installed.
