Interested in forestry, wildlife or working outdoors? Apply now for the 2026 Forestry Jobs Camp, an immersive, overnight experience at Natchez Trace State Park and Forest.

Fire Rehab Services will be having a yard sale May 2nd in Jasper @ the old Jasper Elementary School on Betsy Pack Drive.All proceeds will go directly to Fire Rehab. ...INCREASED FIRE DANGER IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM EDT TO 8 PM EDT On Saturday DUE TO A COMBINATION OF POST-FRONTAL WINDY CONDITIONS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITIES... Fire weather concerns will be increased on Saturday due to a very dry airmass and breezy north winds behind a cold front. Relative humidity values are expected to drop into the teens and lower 20s across the whole region. Valley winds will gust up to 20 mph or more, with wind gusts up to 30 mph across the highest elevations of the east TN mountains. Sunday will be similarly dry but with slightly weaker winds and from out of the south. Residents and visitors are urged to properly dispose of cigarette butts, matches, and any other flammable items in appropriate containers. Additionally, exercise caution if operating any equipment that could create sparks and keep vehicles off of dry grass. Most dry grasses, dead leaves, and other tree litter could easily ignite and spread fire quickly.
