Kiwanis of Jamestown (ND) consists of members of the community that are committed to serving the children of Jamestown and building up a community that helps them thrive. Improving the world one child and one community at a time is why Kiwanis exists and why its members are so dedicated. Each year, the 50+ members go above and beyond, donating their time to various community projects. Here are a f
ew of our main initiatives:
Kiwanis Against Hunger:
Kiwanis Against Hunger works with volunteers to assemble meals for hungry families. Each year, hundreds of volunteers form a factory line: scooping, measuring, packing and sealing. Since the first event in 2010, the group has raised over $300,000 and packed more than one million meals. Kiwanis Key Club:
Key Club is a service program that works with Jamestown High School. It’s a student-led organization that teaches leadership through service to others. As a member of the Key Club students and volunteers have the opportunity to build up themself as well as the schools, and the community here in Jamestown. Interested in getting involved? We’re always looking for mentors and students! Aktion Club:
Aktion Club empowers adults living with disabilities to participate in community service projects, gain leadership skills and become more involved in society. The Aktion Club meets at 1:15 p.m. the second Thursday of every month in a meeting room at the Legacy Center. Pancake Day Fundraiser:
This longtime fundraiser has helped the club raise money for our mission of helping kids in the community, including the annual Kiwanis Against Hunger meal packing event. United Blood Services Drive:
Each year Kiwanis works with Ave Maria to hold a community blood drive here in Jamestown. Giving blood is a simple way to help save hospital patients. Keep an eye on our page for dates and details! Frontier Village:
Kiwanis Club supports the local, free Frontier Village including providing the Homesteaders Parkette that features a claim shack, which is a playhouse open for children to play in while visiting the village. Kiwanis Jamestown is also involved in Meals on Wheels, the Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive, Camp Rokiwan and many other community initiatives. With new guest speakers each week from organizations and businesses that are making an impact, Kiwanis meetings are a great way to get more involved in the Jamestown community and gain insight into the many activities and initiatives happening here.
