Members of the Routt Catholic FFA chapter, of Jacksonville, attended the 98th annual Illinois State FFA Convention June 9-11 along with more than 5,000 other FFA members, advisors, and guests. With a 2026 theme of “Sparking Your Future,” the three-day event recognizes achievements of Illinois FFA members, elects the major state officer team, and celebrates agriculture.

During the convention, the following award was presented to the Routt Catholic FFA chapter with the photo captured in the Farm Credit Newsroom:

Newly Chartered: The chapter was recognized as a newly chartered FFA program in the past year. Routt Catholic FFA joins the community of Illinois FFA chapters, which currently numbers 403.

Students at the convention were greeted with activities including a career fair featuring colleges and agribusinesses and an opportunity to engage in the history of Illinois’ capital city. The sessions featured addresses by National FFA Central Region Vice President Claire Woeppel, of Nebraska, and from each of the retiring major state officers.

Avery and Madi are at Illinois State FFA Convention today! 💙💛

Routt Catholic FFA will be officially recognized as a new chapter during the First General Session. The session begins at 1:00 p.m., and our members are expected to walk across the stage around 2:00 p.m. as they celebrate this exciting milestone in our chapter's history.

Huge congratulations to these outstanding FFA members on earning their Greenhand Degrees! 🌟👏

This degree marks the first major step in their FFA journey, and it’s no small accomplishment. To earn it, members must be enrolled in agricultural education, learn and demonstrate knowledge of the FFA Creed, motto, salute, mission, emblem, and history, understand the Code of Ethics and proper jacket use, and develop a plan for their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE).

We had an AG-citing morning volunteering at Hadden Farms’ farm tours in partnership with the Cass-Morgan Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom! Our FFA members spent the day engaging with local fourth-grade students, leading tours and teaching them about real-world farming practices and animal care.

A big thank you to Lisa Hadden for inviting us to be a part of such a meaningful day!

Routt Catholic FFA members had a great day in Wi******er, earning 10th place team at the Illinois Section 13 Livestock Judging Contest!

A huge thank you to our section teachers for hosting such a well-run event, to the families who generously provided livestock for our members to evaluate.

We were thankful for the beautiful day spent evaluating God’s creations and continuing to grow our skills in the livestock industry.

Happy Easter from Routt Catholic FFA ✝️🌱

He is Risen— and with Him comes a season of renewal, purpose, and new life. As we celebrate the Resurrection, we’re reminded that the same promise lives on in our fields, where every seed planted is an act of faith and hope for what’s to come.

As planting season begins, we lift up our farmers. Praying for their safety, strength, and patience in the work ahead. The crops they grow do more than fill fields, they nourish our communities, our nation, and our world.
