Jacksonville Fire Department hosted students from Jacksonville Illinois Police Department Teen Police Academy today. Citizens Police Academy Alumni/Volunteers in Police Service (CPAA/VIPS) are always happy to assist JPD with this vital program.

Teen Academy is split into two classes. The two Academies are Middle School age (12-14) and High School age (15-17).

The students are able to interact with officers as well as experience what officers do on a day-to-day basis.

The students are exposed to exciting aspects of Law Enforcement as well as a focus on teambuilding and leadership skills. Some of the activities are with our Special Response Team, K-9, fingerprinting, Crime Scene Investigation and much more. The areas are interactive and, in most cases, hands on.

Thank you, Jacksonville Fire Department and Jacksonville Firefighters Local 637!
