Congratulations to the LADY MOUNTIES, the Jackson Area Youth Sports Alliance's Middle School Champions for July 2026!!!

You did the improbable, but proved it was not the impossible! The #1 seeded Ace Assassins went a perfect 28-0 in the regular season, went through the bracket without losing a set (although hats off to the Aggie Attack who gave them a decent fight despite playing with only 5 players), and THEN......they ran into the Big Red Machine! In an EPIC first set, the Lady Mounties narrowly escaped with a 25-23 win, and then the Ace Assassins got their vengeance in set two with a 25-19 victory - - - which meant it all came down to set 3 and the Lady Mounties proved that it CAN be done, and was done by beating them 15-10 in the final set!

Great job, ladies - and great job to EVERYONE who came out and has spent the last month (or two) with us. Cassandra and I started JAYSA so that girls of all experience levels and backgrounds can come together and play a game that they all love and have FUN doing it. It's been great watching you all grow as players and young people over the past month or two. There's a lot of uncertainty up in the air right now as to when we will be back and what form it will be, but we will most definitely be back in some form at some point, so stay tuned! Themed open gym nights for middle school / high school volleyball will more than likely run out the rest of August - so if you feel like coming out and just playing some Queen of the Court or some other mini-games (maybe even a parents vs. kids night?) - - - STAY TUNED!!!!

Thanks to everyone who has made this a FANTASTIC first couple of seasons - you all rock! If anyone ever needs anything please do not hesitate to reach out! Enjoy the rest of your weekend....til we meet again!!!

Just a reminder that TOMORROW (8/8):

MIDDLE SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT IS AT 9AM!

THERE IS NO HIGH SCHOOL TOURNAMENT TOMORROW.

Also, if you have a daughter who is in middle school and likes to play volleyball but wasn't on a team this season, there are a couple of teams who will need alternates so bring them out to the Michigan Sports Facility tomorrow and we can get them some playing time!

See you all tomorrow! Doors open at 8am!

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to your Jackson Area Youth Sports Alliance HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONS for JULY 2026 - - - BLUE GOOSE!!!

Last night was the end of July season for the High School division (NO TOURNAMENT ON SATURDAY FOR High School, Middle School starts at 9am) - - - and the Blue Goose showed once again why they were the dominant force of the league for July!

They ALMOST ran the table and went 20-0, but they lost by ONE point to the Pinkie Pies in round 1 last night. But that doesn't take away from the fact that they still went a staggering 19-1 for the season! They were missing some of their girls last night and they didn't care, they pressed on and fought like champions...and then they were crowned champions!

For a team that was randomly thrown together in the June season, to see these girls not only improve as a team but also see how even from an outside perspectice you can see how they've grown as friends is what this league is all about! The game comes secondary to the relationships and the memories that we all build together!

Congratulations to the Blue Goose, you played hard all year long and deserve those medals! Perhaps we will see you again sometime down the road! For now, bask in the glory, and know that you'll always have a spot on the JAYSA Wall of Fame!

The stage is set for Saturday morning!!!

Our July JAYSA Middle School Championship bracket is set!

9:00 AM Games
#1 Ace Assassins vs. #8 Purple Dinosaurs (Hit Happens working)
#2 Lady Mounties vs. #7 Warriors (NW Aces Deux working)

9:40 Games
#4 Hit Happens vs. #5 Aggie Attack (Loser of #1/ #8 works)
#3 NW Aces Deux vs. #6 Orange Spikes (Loser of #2/ #7 works)

From there, the losing team of the previous game will work the next game on that court. When it comes to the semi-finals, whichever team loses last will work the finals!

Can the Ace Assassins pull off the PERFECT season, and complete their undefeated run? Or will history repeat itself from June and have the #1 seed fall in the tournament? Will the Lady Mounties bring a full team to the table and have their best shot of knocking off the Ace Assassins (they pushed them to the LIMIT last night and were playing short handed)....will the NW ACES have history repeat itself and claim the championship from the #3 seed AGAIN??

Or - - - will another team rise to the challenge and shock the world! Nothing is a given in sports, people, THIS IS WHY YOU PLAY THE GAME!!!

Doors open at 8:00 am for warmups / practice! First serve is at 9:00 AM SHARP!! Hope to see you all there! Fans, come out and support your girls ONE LAST TIME (for now)!!!!

A reminder that TONIGHT not only are PLAYING a FULL SLATE OF GAMES, but it will be our most action-packed night of the season...save the best for last??? You tell us!

Tonight we will feature all 3 courts being used all 4 sessions, as each team will play 6 sets and work 2 sets! At the end of tonight's games we will have the seeding for SATURDAY'S END OF SEASON TOURNAMENT, that will crown the Champions of JAYSA's July season!

While at first it appears things are pretty locked in for position, not so fast our friends, because there are still several things that tonight could impact, including:

#1/ #2 seed - The Ace Assassins have a chance to run the table and finish the season not only as the #1 seed, but with a perfect 26-0 record. In their way? The Lady Mounties, who not only can knock them off of the ranks of the unbeaten, they could, in theory, steal the #1 seed from them with a little help!

#2/ #3 seed - If the Lady Mounties happen to fall to the Ace Assassins, then they could find themselves flip-flopped with the NW Aces Deux in seeding, as they only have a 4 game lead on them. It's possible...just saying.

#4/ #5/ #6 seeds - This is the most likely to see some major changes, as the Aggie Attack, Hit Happens, and Orange Spikes are all seperated by just a few games, and a few of them will play each other tonight, so a lot can shift here.

#7/ #8 seeds - Equally as tight as the #1/ #2 seed, the difference between the 7 and 8 seed is only 3 games, and the two teams play each other tonight in the first round of games! This is a big game for both of these squads and we can't wait to see who comes out on top!

There you have it - something is on the line at every level of seeding - - - so be sure to bring your friends and family out to cheer on your girls tonight - - a lot is at stake during our FINAL WEEK OF REGULAR SEASON!!!

Hope to see you all at the Michigan Sports Facility tonight! Doors open at 5pm for warmups, first game serves up at 6pm!!!

Just so everyone is clear, our FINAL REGULAR SEASON WEEK is tomorrow, 8/4, and it will be a FULL schedule, even moreso than normal because court 3 will be utilized all 4 blocks. Every team will play 3 blocks and work 1 block.

Then on Saturday the 8th at 9am we will have our season ending tournament. It is an 8 team single elimination bracket so it shouldn't take too long.

Tomorrow's results could sway seeding for the playoff though, as the top, bottom, and middle seeds could still be adjusted based on Tuesday's results.

So far the girls have played 22 games. The season has them play each other team twice aka 7 other teams, a total of 4 games (sets) against each team = 28 games on the season. We have played 22 and every team plays 6 tomorrow thus we will end at 28.

If you have any questions please let me know!

We are unveiling our plans for the rest of August soon, too, so if your girls want to continue to come out and play on Tuesdays we have some different stuff in mind that will both give them a lot of reps and should equate into a lot of fun as well. More on that later though!

See you soon at the Michigan Sports Facility!

Attention High Schoolers!

Since we don't have any games scheduled for week 5, we have taken all things into consideration and have decided to postpone tonight's games go week 5 due to the toxic air quality. Sure, the girls play inside but honestly every time the door opens a little bit more of the air gets in and it is noticeable.

We are errororing on the side of caution tonight for the health of all involved!

So REPEAT - TONIGHT'S GAMES (WEEK 2) are being pushed to WEEK 5 instead.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but this is the safest decision we can make!

Stay inside, people, please!

07/14/2026

Tonight's action for week 2 of the Jackson Area Youth Sports Alliance's July Middle School league!

Please have the girls at the Michigan Sports Facility as early as 5, but no later than 5:45 pm!

Also, if you have girls in your life that may want to try volleyball and fill in as alternates for this evening, I fear we may need them for a couple of teams. Bring em out and get them some reps (no cost to fill in if they are needed, which I'm pretty sure they will be).

See you all soon!
