☕ Alma Café is catching the attention of The Dallas Morning News! Find out what makes this South Irving coffee shop and bakehouse stand out.
📍 202 S. Britain Road

In a city where growth is often associated with Las Colinas, corporate offices and developments in northern Irving, the opening of Alma Cafe & Bakehouse in the southern part of the city has drawn attention to an area where independent coffee shops are scarce.

The experience at Alma is intended to go beyond the menu. The space, designed to feel intimate and welcoming, retains some of the property’s original residential character. There are lounge-style indoor areas for conversations over a cup of coffee, and an outdoor wooden terrace designed for socializing. https://bit.ly/43AzhjC

🤫 You might call them the “SECRET FLOORS” of the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas.
👀 Officially known as Floors 1B and 4A, these behind-the-scenes spaces house everything needed to keep the building running smoothly — from maintaining comfortable temperatures to creating that welcoming signature scent guests notice when they walk in.
🔧 These floors are also headquarters for the Convention Center’s outstanding Facilities and Engineering team. Their expertise spans a wide range of complex systems and equipment. It takes an incredible amount of knowledge and coordination to keep a building this large operating efficiently every day.
👥 Staff from Visit Irving, Texas and the Irving Convention Center received a special tour of these “secret floors” as part of the monthly Lunch-and-Learn program. It brings both organizations together to learn more about each department’s role and responsibilities.
👏 Team building through education builds success!
