Ms. Brianna, Ms. Danielle, and Ms. Vicki are so proud of our little graduates!

As another school year ends, it doesn't get any easier saying goodbye to the kids who made our classroom feel like home. We learned just as much as we taught, and laughed even more.

As we clean up the classroom after saying goodbye, we find little messes and memories that meant more to us than we could have imagined. ❤️

Ontonagon Head Start and Early Head Start wrapped up the school year with a fun-filled End of Year Picnic at Ontonagon Township Park!
Families gathered for an afternoon of outdoor fun, playground time, hula hoops, and laughter. Even the rain held off just in time for everyone to enjoy the celebration!

A special highlight was Ms. Peggy presenting each Head Start child with a personalized award, including titles like “Most Likely to Be a Teacher” and “Scissor Master.”

Thank you to all the families who helped make this such a wonderful and memorable event. We hope everyone has a great summer!

GOCAA Head Start with sites in Ironwood, Bessemer and Ontonagon (your child has to be 3 by 12/1) and Early Head Start Home visiting program (0-3 years of age or pregnant moms) are accepting applications for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. (If you have already submitted an application and proof of income for the 2026-2027 school year, I will be in contact with you shortly.)

Our Head Start program runs Monday - Thursday, full-days and after-school care to working parents until 4pm. We provide breakfast, lunch and snack daily through the Child and Adult Care Food Program to ensure your child will receive fresh, home-cooked meals and fresh fruits and vegetables daily.

I know alot of parents worry that their child isn't potty trained, and the good news is that your child is not required to be potty-trained AND we will provide pull-ups during the day while our wonderful staff help work with your child.

We also have a Family Service Manager available for our families for any emergencies, needs or goals that your family might need help with and a Mental Health Consultant to work with families if needed.

GOCAA Head Start & Early Head Start celebrated our school year with an End-of-Year Celebration on Friday, May 15th at the Pat O'Donnell Civic Center!
Families, children & staff enjoyed many fun, hands-on activities together throughout the afternoon.
Thank you to all our Head Start parent and staff volunteers and community donors who helped make this a success!

A special thank you to Jay at the Pat O'Donnel Civic Center for your contributions and kindness!
The Civic Center is an amazing community space for graduation parties, family events, open skating and Lumberjacks hockey fun for all ages!!

Just a reminder to parents/guardians and families of GOCAA Headstart/Early Headstart. The end of the year parent event is today at the Civic Center in Ironwood from 3:30-5:30pm. Please come and enjoy all the wonderful things staff/parents have put together for your children. We hope to see you there!!!

Ontonagon headstart has been learning about plants the last couple weeks and today we planted our greenhouses that Mrs. Markkanen was kind enough to share with us. We can’t wait to see them sprout! 🌱
