July 5th is the DIRTIEST BEACH DAY of the year 🇺🇸 to help motivate you all to get out there and do some cleaning, we’re giving away a $50 gift card to Cape Ann SUP + Surf !!

You’ve got one week starting tomorrow:
✔️ get to a beach
✔️ collect some trash
✔️ snap a picture or take a video
✔️ post it & tag us!

A winner will be announced Sunday, July 12th.

A major sewer line break is sending millions of gallons of untreated wastewater into the river daily, forcing closures of beaches and shellfish beds from Haverhill to the coast, from Salisbury to Rockport. This crisis hit at the worst possible time, right before a holiday heatwave.

This is the exact scenario we have worked to prevent. It underscores the urgent need for systemic upgrades, not temporary fixes.

Every year, through our advocacy on Capitol Hill, we call for critical federal support to help Massachusetts modernize failing water infrastructure.
The Merrimack River is vital to our environment, economy, and public health, and it deserves robust, long-term protection.

The current repairs, while necessary, are not a solution. We need investment in resilient systems that prevent these disasters before they happen. Here’s what you can do right now:

👉 PUBLIC SAFETY: Please respect all beach closures and public health advisories. Avoid contact with affected waterways.

JOIN US!! 🌊 we are looking for volunteers to join us for tabling events, corporate and school group hosting, policy work, community outreach and STOKEE!
