💕 A little pink, a lot of love! 💕

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, students and staff at our Starfish Cecil ECE Center dressed in pink to show their support and celebrate the strength of friends, family members and colleagues whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.

We love seeing a new tradition in the making! ☺️

Our School Food Mobile Pantry is back tomorrow! In partnership with Gleaners Community Food Bank, families can stop by for free, nutritious food and healthy resources.

Join us tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 15, from 8:30–9:30 AM at:

The pantry serves up to 100 families and includes approximately 30 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh milk, whole grains and lean protein. Each family also receives healthy recipes and nutrition information.

No registration is required. Just stop by, and we’ll handle the rest!

This event offers Detroit families and providers an opportunity to connect with candidates for Michigan Governor and U.S. Senate and share their experiences, priorities and perspectives on what our youngest children and families need to thrive.

Detroit families and providers have an opportunity to connect with Michigan’s future leaders at Centering Children and Families: A Community Storytime on Saturday, October 17. 📚

Candidates running for Michigan Governor and U.S. Senate have been invited to join Detroit children and families for storytime, followed by a community conversation focused on what young children and families need to thrive.

Please join us in welcoming Eric Doeh to the Starfish Family Services Board of Directors!

Eric currently serves as President of Humana Medicaid Michigan, supporting more than 320,000 members across all 83 Michigan counties. His extensive career spans health care, behavioral health, law and public service, including previously serving as CEO of the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network.

Eric also brings a strong history of community leadership and currently serves on the boards of Gesher Human Services and Judson Center.

We’re grateful to welcome Eric’s experience, perspective and commitment to serving Michigan communities to the Starfish board. 🩵
